“Yes.”

Jensen swallows, like what he’s about to say next is painful or awkward for him. He looks away from my face. “Did you kiss him?”

“Jensen, what’s this about?”

“I’m just trying to talk,” he says, still not looking at me.

“Yeah, we kissed, but—”

Jensen steps past me off the porch, shaking his head. “Well, that’s that then. Good for you, Harper. I’m glad it worked out for you.” With that, he starts walking back in the direction of the cabin.

“Jensen, wait!” I yell, but he doesn’t. He keeps walking, hands in his pockets, back to me.

Ugh. Damn it. What the hell was that about?

Men are driving me absolutely batshit crazy today. Okay, that’s not fair. Jensen is driving me batshit crazy today.

I take out my phone and text Steve that I made it home safe, getting an immediate return text full of sweet sentiment. These men are clearly total opposites.

This little moment just confirms that I probably made the right decision.

Obviously, the good stable choice is Steve.

And the kissing? We can work on the kissing.
