“I am a superhero.” Nix said with a grin.

“You two were so cute back then. I thought for sure you’d be walking that little lady down the aisle before you had even left for college.” Nix’s mom added.

“There it is.” Mr. Stratford said. “I was just waiting for her to drop the marriage bomb before heading to the living room.”

I watched as Mrs. Stratford fussed at her husband, ignoring the tension between Nix and me and helped him to his chair.

“Happy you came?” He said as he leaned over and whispered into my ear.

“Still undecided.”

“Let me guess, pleased with the fucking, but pissed at my mom?”

“I’m not pissed at her.”

He leaned back in his chair, giving me a knowing glare that only made me angry. How do we go from one minute of pure bliss to him being a complete asshole every time we see each other?

“I’ll go get dessert.” I said, excusing myself from the table and heading into the kitchen. I didn’t need to look back to know Nix was following me.

“What is your problem?” he said as soon as the door closed behind us.

“I have no problem.”

“You do, I can sense it.”

“Sense it? What are you, psychic now?”

“When it comes to you? Yes.”

“Oh please, if you were so in tune with me, then you would know nothing is wrong.”

I moved throughout the kitchen, pulling out serving spoons and a pie cutter as I prepped all the desserts that needed to be put out. Mrs. Stratford hadn’t moved a thing in her kitchen over the last twenty years, so I found everything with ease.

“I know there is something wrong because there always is when you say there isn’t.”

“Okay, you know what? There is something wrong.”

“See I knew it!”

“Fuck you.” I said as I picked up a pie plate and made my way back into the dining room. This time he didn’t follow, but that also meant I had to go back for the other dishes.

The second I passed through the door, he grabbed me by my neck and pulled me to him. I wish I could say I fought it, but even after being throughly fucked all afternoon, I felt the gush of wetness in my panties the second his hands were on me. He pulled me close to him and put his forehead up against mine.

“I’m not playing your games this time, Hattie. If you have a problem with me, then you admit it. I’m not going to beg you to tell me what you need. That part of my life is over.”

I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t move and for fuck’s sake I didn’t want too. His lips crashed into mine and I was ready. I opened my mouth for the onslaught of Nix. Everything in me wanted to climb this man like a damn tree, but it was his mother’s voice that brought reality crashing back into both of us. He let go, nearly pushing me away the second the door swung open. I straightened the dress I had put on for dinner and pushed my hair back behind my ears. Looking down, it was clear Nix had problems of his own below the belt.

“Oh my, I’m so sorry. I thought I’d help, but it seems you two have this under control.” She said, turning quickly and leaving us standing there like two teenagers who just got caught making out. I leaned back against the wall and covered my face with my hands, giving up the fight. Now that she had seen us, everything was even more complicated than it had been before. Why the hell was I here? Was I just a glutton for punishment?

“Well, that was unexpected.” Nix said as he leaned over the counter, shaking his head. “I need a minute. Can you take the rest of this out?”

I looked up at him and laughed. Even after his mother interrupted us, he was still sporting a hard on. I shook my head and pushed back from the wall, “Yeah, and do something about that before you put someone’s eye out.”

I couldn’t help myself and the laughter that sprung from me at that time was more severe than the last. When I got within his reach, he pulled me in front of him and pushed me over the counter, pressing his hard cock into my backside.

“You do realize if my mother wasn’t listening with her ear against that door right now, I’d lift this dress and fuck you so hard you’d scream, right?”

His whisper was quiet, and my eyes darted to the door. Sure enough, at the bottom of the door was a shaded spot where the light didn’t shine through. She was standing there listening. Nix let me go and turned to leave then, as if nothing had happened, and he wasn’t outside hiding his hard on, I walked out of the kitchen with a pie in my hand and a smile on my face.
