“That is fine. There are plenty of things to do on Olara 8.”

With a smile, Sofia looked back out the window, observing the landscape as her brain conjured up all sorts of interesting things that she and her new husband could get into.

Chapter 2

AN HOUR LATER, SOFIA was sitting across from Braax in an oversized chair, not quite built to human proportions. Everything was slightly large, and she supposed that would be another thing she’d need to get used to.

She cleared her throat when he gave her no indication he was going to speak.

“So, how is this supposed to go?”

“We live together, make offspring together.”

He gave her another too big smile, sending a shiver down her spine. But wait… offspring?

“Oh…” This was awkward. “I can’t have children.”

He looked at her, green eyes narrowed.

“They assured me only sexually compatible species were options.”

“Yes, well, I don’t know anything about that, but I had a hysterectomy a year ago in an attempt to stop endometriosis from ruining my life. I still get some pain flare-ups, but not nearly as bad.”

He just stared at her blankly, though she didn’t miss the tic of his jaw.

“Anyway, no uterus means no offspring, I’m afraid. Even before the surgery, I tried for years, but my womb is apparentlyhostile and unwelcoming…” Sofia trailed off, realizing she was blathering on.

There was an all too familiar pressure in her chest at the memory of her ex-husband’s cruel words. The whole reason she was here in the first place.

She examined Braax for a reaction, but his expression was indecipherable.

“Are you going to return me?”

Her new husband was silent for a long moment, something flashing behind his glowing eyes, something she couldn’t read.

He finally answered.

“The hostility of your womb is no matter. I fulfilled my family’s expectation by taking a mate. I will not return you. Besides, I am only interested in the pleasure aspect of reproduction. I do not care about offspring.”

Her relief at his assurance quickly soured. Of course, she knew thatsexwas an obvious part of the agreement, but now that she was sitting across from the hulking alien, she was having second thoughts.

“In fact, I would like to consummate our marriage now. Come to bed with me, Sofia.”

The words sent another chill down her spine. Braax stood, reaching out for her with a clawed hand.

In a daze, Sofia took it and he led her towards another area of his home. No, this was not unexpected, but so quickly? They barely knew each other.

Then they were in a dark room, an enormous bed piled high with pillows the focal point of the space. He shut the door behind them and approached her. A cold sweat broke out on her neck, her heart racing as the Hileth stalked over to her.

“Such a lovely human they have sent me,” he growled, his voice low as he wrapped a clawed hand lightly around her throat.

This was happening. She was going toconsummateher marriage with her new alien husband. Right here, right now.

He leaned down, a long lemon yellow tongue snaking out from his mouth and brushing across her lips. The sensation sent a jolt of electricity straight to her cunt, arousal mingling with the fear coursing through her. His rubbery tongue swept over her with heavy brushstrokes, like the firm touch of an artist.

The clawed hand at her throat slid behind her neck and tangled into her hair, the other gripping her waist.

“Touch me, wife.”
