“I know your dad would like to have a dance with you, so don’t disappear on us,” Casey said.
“As long as Gabe is on stage, you won’t have to worry about that,” Fiona said, suddenly emboldened.
Casey laughed and then went to join her husband, Charlie, at their table while the band did one last sound check and instrument tuning.
Gabe took the microphone.
“Good evening, folks. We’re the Lonesome Cowpokes, and we’re honored to be here celebrating with you all. We’re going to start out with the wedding song request, “Amazed,” by Lonestar, a song that, from what I’ve seen, could have been written for Zane and Allie. One of the most beautiful modern love songs I know of. Get on out here, you two. The dance floor is waiting.”
Gabe counted the beat, “One…two…three…,” and began singing.
“Every time our eyes meet….”
Zane held Allie tightly in his arms as he led her around the dance floor, singing quietly along with the words.
“Hey, Allie, remember our first dance at the lake house? When you stepped all over my feet?”
“I did not!” Allie said, swatting him and laughing. “How could I forget. I think that’s the moment I fell for you. It was so romantic.”
“You know that I want you today as much as I did back then, maybe even more. My wife, I love the sound of that.”
The words and music were weaving a spell of enchantment as he put his lips against hers and they got lost in the moment. Only the two of them existed. After several minutes, they suddenly realized where they were and pulled their lips apart, but Zane’s eyes were smoldering with lust, just as Allie’s were. The crowd cheered and clapped as the song ended.
“Umm, I think you can see what I mean, folks,” Gabe said, entertaining the crowd with his easy style and quick wit. Congratulations, Allie and Zane! Now I’m going to play another great love song by none other than the legend, Elvis! Come on out to the floor, all of you couples. Here’s our rendition of ‘I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.’ I hope you like it!”
Sam stood and tugged on Darcy’s hand, leading her to the dance floor. She slipped easily into his arms like she belonged there. Sam gazed down into her large, sparkling eyes and said, “You have the most incredibly vivid green eyes I’ve ever seen, Darcy Morgan. They sparkle like the finest cut emerald. The song says, ‘Wise men might say only fools rush in,’ but I can’t help myself, I am completely utterly captivated by you.”
He held her close against his body as they swayed to the timeless song about falling in love and the inability to stop it from happening. Sam buried his nose in her hair and inhaled the intoxicating scent of her. Darcy’s body responded immediately, snuggling her hips even closer. She could feel his response pressing tantalizingly against her and she pulled his head down for a kiss. He groaned against her lips, reluctantly lifting his mouth from hers to say, “Perhaps it’s time for us to leave? I would love to go back to your place for some time alone.”
Darcy, almost in a daze, said breathlessly, “Yes.”
Darcy and Sam were not the only couple being moved by the music. Pete expertly guided Sarah around the dance floor, both engrossed with one another. Casey and Charlie were not immune to the romance in the air either, as they held each other tight.
When the band segued into “Feels So Right” by Alabama, Sam said urgently to Darcy, “If we don’t get out of here right this minute, I’m afraid I’m going to embarrass myself.”
“Yes, let’s go!” Darcy agreed.

They made it back to Darcy’s in record time, barely pausing to let the dogs out before falling into each other’s arms. Sam devoured Darcy’s mouth, his need for her intensifying as she responded in kind.
Her dress had a back zipper that ran the entire length of the garment, and while slowly unzipping it, he trailed kisses across her shoulders and down her back. She stepped out of the dress and stood there in her black lacy bra and panties, feeling vulnerable and exposed.
Sam sucked in his breath sharply and couldn’t tear his gaze away from the vision of her standing before him, wild flaming red hair, her exquisite beauty, her bee-stung lips parted with desire for him, her green eyes slightly uncertain. As he unclasped her bra, her voluptuous breasts spilled out from it confines. He leaned down and hungrily sucked at each nipple until they were erect and swollen. He paused, causing Darcy to squirm with the exquisite torture of waiting for him to continue. He picked Darcy up into his arms and carried her to the bed, laying her down gently.
“Darcy,” Sam said. “I want you more than I have ever wanted anything in my entire life. I want all of you, this, as good as it is, doesn’t mean anything to me without the feelings. I’m falling for you hard.”
He quickly undressed and then slowly pulled her lingerie down her shapely thighs and tossed them aside. With no barriers between them, he slipped on a condom and entered her moist center. He plunged in and froze for a moment to savor how it felt to finally be inside, to have her warmth enveloping him. Then he began to move in and out, slowly at first, then increasing his tempo until they were both aroused to the brink of surrender. She was the first to erupt in a climax and he quickly followed. With her hands buried in his thick hair, she let the tide of desire carry her far away as they both rode wave after wave together.
“You are exquisite,” he said afterwards.
He cupped her breast while drawing the nipple in and out with his lips and tongue, expertly pulling and tugging.
Sam looked up at her and said, “You smell so good, makes me think of a field of wildflowers on a sunny day. I think I’m becoming aroused all over again.”
“We have all night. Unless you have to go home?’ she asked.
“Nope. Gabe promised to take care of things at the farm in the morning, and the dogs are having a slumber party at his place, so I’m good.”
