I lay awake thinking of the last week. Everything was too perfect, and I was waiting for the other shoe to drop. I glanced at my sleeping husband’s face. I had lunch with Lizzie today, which was my treat since she kept her fees to a minimum. Solicitors never did that. We had a girl's night out with Eliza. She missed my company since she was left bickering with her big brother but was happy with her designer apartment.

I placed my hand over my stomach and wondered what I would do if she had difficulty conceiving. We were both young and healthy, but when you want something so badly, it comes with fear. Fear of it being taken away from you from circumstances that are out of your control.

“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Seth asked as he switched the lamp on. When I glanced at him, I noticed that he had a deep-set frown marring his face.

His brow was furrowed tightly, and his lips were scrunched up. I could tell he was about to go into his equation mode. I touched his cheek and was about to say it was nothing, but this wasn't the way forward.

“I’m worried that something will upset our happiness or we might not be able to conceive. It’s just silly thoughts,” I said with a shrug.

His face relaxed and softened as he moved closer.

“They aren't silly thoughts at all, baby. I’ve been worried, too. I don't want to be without you by my side. As for children? I will continue to fuck you day and night, regardless of your fucking schedule.”

“The world thanks you for your valiant sacrifice and donations towards my cervix,” I said with a giggle and nestled my head into his chest.

“Our love will only grow stronger, baby, with or without children. Although my mother might have a different opinion,” he added as an afterthought.

“The books she sent me were helpful, though,” I said in Evelyn’s defence.

“You have got to be kidding me. Is that Seth and Saul?” Eliza said incredulously.

Lizzie and I twirled around to where Eliza was looking. I sighed dreamily and smiled when I saw my husband, brother, and Warner near the bar. I found his stalking notebook. It was so cute that he followed me around like a lost puppy. His commentary and doodling were amusing, though.

“God, you're making me want to vomit, Kat. Why is he still stalking you?” Eliza said.

“I see the fuckboy is with them,” Lizzie said with her eyes narrowing in on Warner.

“Which one?” Eliza asked.

“What do you mean?” Lizzie asked with a frown.

“Saul is the original fuckboy. Apparently, he fucks anything that moves. Rumour has it he fucked a 58-year-old woman,” Eliza said.

Lizzie gasped but reached for her Pornstar martini.

“Hey, I started that rumour,” I said. “The source was Seth, so I don't know if it is reliable or not.”

Seth waved to me with a smile, and Seth nodded to me. My smile faded when I remembered that he saw my pussy.

Gross.

Warner was staring at Lizzie with murder in his eyes.

“He either wants to fuck you or kill you, Lizzie,” Eliza said.

“I go with fuck first, then murder,” I said, earning a glare from Lizzie.

“I wouldn't touch that diseased fuckboy for a million pounds,” she said angrily before downing the rest of her Pornstar.

“What if he had a really big cock? Not a deformed, weird one. Like a perfectly proportioned one,” Eliza said with a smirk before sipping her drink.

My phone lit up, and I checked my message notification.

Seth:You look beautiful tonight, baby. Would you like me to book us a room at the Kensington for later?

Me:Did you bring cash?
