“I am glad.” She smiled back.

I sipped my coffee as Mr. Jameson took a seat at the head of the table.

“Emmie’s never brought a girl home before and it looks like it was unplanned.” He grinned at me.

I realized just then I was still in my PJs. I flushed red. I couldn’t believe Jay never thought to remind me.

“Yeah,” I mumbled. I narrowed my eyes at Jay, who was currently standing across the table, enjoying my squirming.

Soon, I was having breakfast with the Jameson’s. Emily made pancakes just for me after Jay told her I don’t really like breakfast, but if it was something sweet, I would have it. I protested, but she insisted.

And I was glad she made them—they were delicious. Lily joined us a while later, and we gobbled up the spread Emily made for us.

Jay literally carried me home in bridal style after breakfast. He wouldn’t listen when I complained that I needed to walk.

“I am so heavy. Please put me down. Everyone is looking at us,” I whined.

He rolled his eyes. “No one is looking at you.”

“Ahh.” I dropped my head back, frustrated. I looked up at the clear blue sky with fluffy white clouds that made cool patterns.

“That one looks like a dog,” I said, pointing to the sky. “And that one is like a parrot. Oh, and that one is like an egg.” I giggled. “A cloud that looks like an egg—that is so funny.”

Jay didn’t reply, so I averted my gaze from the sky and met those blues. He was staring at me with a weird look on his face.

“What?” I mumbled, suddenly shy.

“I love you. I love you fucking much. You don’t know how much I love you, sweetheart. You mean the world to me.” His warm, husky voice caressed my soul. His eyes burned with love.

I held my forehead to his. “You are my world,” I whispered.

CHAPTER 12

The girls were throwing me a belated birthday party at “The Decades,” our town’s only bar that allowed teenagers as long as we didn’t drink or cause any trouble. The party was actually supposed to be weeks ago when I actually turned eighteen but it kept getting postponed by the San Francisco trip, the band’s gigs, and then by my impromptu ankle incident. The girls were like enough was enough that no matter what happened the party was officially happening this week.

I sighed as I rummaged through my closet, trying to find a dress for the party. I had so many clothes but never seemed to find anything good when I needed it.

“Her cheeks hollowed as she sucked him like a lollipop,” said a voice from behind me.

Jay, who was currently lying on my bed reading one of my books.

I turned to look at him. “Give that to me,” I said in a stern voice as I placed my hands on my hips.

“What? I am reading it.” He placed it on his chest “Who knows, I might find something new in here,” he said with an innocent face. “It could be great to try it out.” He wiggled his eyebrows.

I sighed he looked so gorgeous with one hand placed behind his head, showing off his delicious muscles.

Things between me and Jay had gotten more intense. We were always on each other every chance that we got. I was happy. I was truly happy for the first time in my life. And it was all because of him.

I turned back to the closet. I flicked through the clothes in frustration. “Uh.”

A pair of strong arms snaked around my hips. “Why is my girl upset?” Jay asked as he dropped his chin on my shoulder.

“I can’t find anything to wear,” I whined as I leaned into him and rested my arms around his.

“Come on, let’s go get you a new one.”

“No,” I whined again. “I need to wear these clothes. I promised myself to not get a new one until I wear everything in this closet at least once.”
