I pressed my forehead against his and peered into those blue-blue eyes that I had missed so much.
We breathed together as our lips met in a frenzy—he gave me the most spell-binding kiss that made me go to heaven.
I didn’t let go when he finally set me on the ground. I clung to him, following along as I greeted everyone else. He wrapped an arm around my shoulder, keeping me by his side.
“Dayum, if only I had someone to greet me like that when I come back to this sorry-ass town,” Mikey exclaimed, a sly grin playing on his face.
I rolled my eyes at him. “Hello to you too, Mikey.”
“Evy, OMG, I missed you so much.” A blur of strawberry blonde hair rushed to me, enveloping me in a half-hug, because Jay wouldn’t let go.
“I missed you too, Katy,” I muttered, smiling. I waved to Matt and Lan from behind her shoulder.
Soon, Emily and Liana came to pick us all up. The guys loaded all the equipment into the back of the truck except for Jay, who wouldn’t let go of his guitar aka ‘Firebird’, he had even named her. He said it might fall so placed it on the seat next to us as Emily drove us home. The rest of them went with Liana because they all lived up in Rose Hill.
I sighed happily as I leaned into him—he kept smiling at me and drew small circles on the back of my hand.
Emily pulled up at my driveway and peered at us through the rearview mirror with a knowing smile on her face. “I figured I would drop you kids here. You might want to catch up.” She winked.
I blushed while Jay laughed. “Thanks, Mamma. I’ll come by later to unpack all the instruments.”
“Bye. You kids have fun.” She waved, grinning as she drove off.
Jay turned to face me, and immediately the air around us thickened. We wanted each other now.
He was on me in a second, lifting me off my feet. Our lips collided as we tasted each other. I breathed into him like he was the one thing that was keeping me alive at this moment.
My back hit the front door, but we didn’t stop—he tilted his head into a deeper angle that made me swoon.
“Keys,” he rasped, his eyes full of want and need.
“Back pockets,” I said as my lips found him once again.
We fumbled as we opened the door and made it to my room in record time.
“You look so beautiful, sweetheart. I missed you more than you will ever know.” Jay lifted my shirt off me and unbuttoned my jeans, pulling them away.
He kissed me again as I lay flat on the bed with him all over me.
“I want to feel you, please,” I moaned as I tried to lift his T-shirt. But he got up, and I immediately missed his warmth, but only for a second because he was on top of me again, this time in only his boxers.
I moaned loudly as I felt his delicious heat envelope me in a warm embrace. His scent intoxicated all my senses. I missed the feel of him against my body.
Jay peered at me when we came up for air, his eyes so full of love, so full of passion.
“I don’t know what to do without you in my life,” he whispered against my skin.
“Me neither.” I breathed.
I ran my fingers through his hair, relishing in the feel of his soft, wavy locks against my fingers.
“We are stupidly in love, aren’t we?” I asked him, smiling.
“Yeah.” He laughed, but his expression turned grim. “But I am scared I am going to lose you one day. I don’t know if I will ever be able to breathe if that happened.” He admitted.
“I feel the same way,” I whispered against his nose. “But honestly, I must be the one who should be scared out of my mind with the number of girls chasing you.” I rolled my eyes.
He chuckled. “Too bad I only have eyes for one girl who drives me so fucking crazy that she makes my head spin and stirs a frenzy in my heart.”
