He was deep inside her, but it was not enough. He wanted to melt into her, become one with her. Rolling to the side, he jerked her knee up and drove into her. One hand came up to wrap around strands of her hair so that he could keep her steady as he seized her lips in a kiss that bruised and excited her to the point of madness.

She came viciously. Dragging her lips from his, she bit down hard on his shoulder and drew blood. When she started to suck on the skin, he went wild. He came, his body bucking, his head thrown back as waves after waves washed through him.

He couldn’t stop, the climax was unending and even when it was finished, the spasms still wracked him until he felt as if he had died and been reborn.

Finding the strength, he slid off her and gathered her against him. He felt boneless and drained. He was weak and spent, but his heart was still pounding, his body glistening with sweat. He could not speak, there was really nothing to say. All he could do was feel and he was feeling everything.

Her face was buried in his chest, fingers curled in the damp hairs of his chest.

It was now he felt the throbbing on his shoulder and his back.

And he remembered that he had sucked her blood into his mouth, that he had hurt her.

Easing her away, he sat up and examined her flesh, grimacing at the large bruise on her left breast.

“I need to get some iodine…”

“No.” Taking his hand, she laced their fingers together. “Not yet.”

“You are going to get an infection.”

“Not yet.” She brought his hand to her lips. Tilting her head up, she stared at him with tears shimmering in her eyes. “I spent years of my life having no one except Justin and I was fine, or thought I was.

I tried to look for love in so many places and failed.” She had to draw in a breath. “I never found it and when I decided to hell with it and stopped looking, there you were.” Her throat was thick with unshed tears.

“When I came in and saw that you changed things for me, that you always put me first, something broke inside me. I don’t care about the bruises. I wanted you to put your seed inside me.” She brought their joined hands to her flat stomach. “You put yourbaby inside me, and I feel like flying. I love you so damn much, that I cannot breathe.”

“You think…”

“I know.” She pressed his hand deeper. “My darling husband, I wanted it rough and…” She drew in a breath. “It was wonderful, and I have no regrets.”

“My one true love.” His voice was thick as he slid down and cupped her face. “My darling, my only love. What you do to me.” He kissed her deeply, his large body shuddering. “I adore you!”

“Pregnancy becomes you.” Justin told her in a hushed tone as he kissed her on the lips, ignoring the glower directed towards him from her husband. The glower was just for show, because over the last few months, the two men had bonded in their love for Cathy. They both loved her in different ways, yes, but they were committed to her.

And now that she was pregnant, that commitment went even further. They were determined to fuss over her, ignoring her exasperating comments that she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself.

And that she was not the first pregnant woman in history.

They were having a son. Cathy had been right on target after that randy and animalistic lovemaking that had drawn blood from them. Six weeks after that night, she had started to discover symptoms. A visit to the doctor had confirmed it.

They were languishing by the pool on a sizzling summer day in July. She had invited Justin, Teresa, and Byron, who were now a steadfast couple. Evelyn and her husband George were also present.

George and Byron were manning the grill, with Earl occasionally wandering over to oversee the preparation of the meal. But every now and then he would stop by to give an eye on his very pregnant wife.

“Make yourself useful and get her something to drink.”

“You just want to get rid of me.” Justin muttered.

“And people said you are nothing but a pretty face.” Earl sat on the lounge where his wife was reclining, a bowl of fruits balanced on her distended stomach. “There might be hope for you yet.”

“Please bear in mind that I can hardly roll myself off this chaise, yet alone break up a fight.” She warned, dividing a glance between the two most important men in her life. “Justin, get me a tall glass of lemonade.”

“You are supposed to be on my side.”

“I am not choosing sides at all. Go.”
