Sticking my tongue out at him, I sit down, and he puts my Nikes on for me.

Grayson gets dressed and hand in hand, we walk back outside.

Noah looks up from his spot on the ground where he is changing the tire on his Jeep. "Hi, lovebirds. Next time, try and keep the noise down when people are here. My ears are scarred.”

I snap my head to Grayson who is standing behind me, laughing. Embarrassed as hell, I go to jump in my Jeep, but Grayson grabs me around my waist and throws me over his shoulder.

He smacks my ass. "No, you don’t, Angel.”

I beat on his back. "Put me down or I’m going home. Everyone here sucks!”

Noah yells across the yard. "No, sweetie. But judging by how loud Grayson was, I betyoudo.”

Gray stops short, placing me down next to the bike and giving me a look that lets me know if I try and run, I won’t get anywhere. Then he starts walking to Noah.

Oh shit, this is going to be good. Noah jumps into his Jeep and locks the doors.

I shout to Grayson. "Come on Bear, he’s too young to die.”

With a frustrated sigh, Gray listens. He turns back around, ignoring a hysterical Noah who’s sticking his tongue out at him from behind the window.

He swiftly walks over to the outdoor table on the patio and grabs his backpack and our helmets. When he comes back, he hands them to me and takes a shirt out of his bag.

Pulling it over his head, he asks, "Where's your jeans?”

This man is obsessive about what I wear during our rides. The weather is getting warmer, and I’ve started wearing shorts under a looser pair of jeans so that when we get to wherever we are going, I’m not sweating my ass off.

When I nod my head towards the Jeep, he opens the trunk and grabs them for me.

I keep them in there since I never know when we are going to go. My trunk basically has a full suitcase of extra clothes and bathroom supplies. Sometimes, I need extra Oliver cuddles after a shift and go to his house instead of mine.

Swapping the helmets for my jeans, he waits for me to pull them up before putting my helmet on. Then he grabs the backpack he makes me wear every time we ride and secures our stuff inside, checking my helmet one last time before we leave.

As the engine rumbles to life, he taps my leg, signaling for me to wrap my arms around him.

Grayson throws up his middle finger at Noah and we take off down the winding road. I tilt my head back, enjoying the warm wind hitting my chest. When we reach a long stretch of straight road, Gray looks back at me. I smile and tap my helmet against his gently. Looking back at the road, he reaches back and grabs my thigh, caressing it gently and I rest my head on his back, hugging him tighter.

I’m so happy right now. This day. This man. This life.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Grayson

Buzzz.Buzzz.

Waking up, I look over to see my phone lighting up on my nightstand. Logan is sleeping peacefully on my chest. Her arms are hugging me and our legs are so tangled, you can’t tell where she begins and I end. Kissing the top of her head, I try to move her, but she doesn’t budge.

I don’t want to risk waking her up, so I reach over and grab my phone. Landon’s name shines on the screen.

Dammit. The only reason he would call me this late is if a mission is about to happen.

Answering the call, I talk as quietly as I can. "Hello?” My voice is still full of sleep.

"We’ll be at your place in five minutes. Wake up,” Landon orders.

I know I have no choice, so I agree and hang up.

Logan begins to shift on my chest. I have no choice but to wake her up now because I have to tell her I’m leaving.
