Genny leaned forward and kissed him, and showed him exactly what she wanted. Very gently, of course.
She didn’t want to wait even another minute.
Chad did exactly what she wanted.

Doug bitback fury unlike any he had ever felt before. That bastard had taken her home with him. Doug had followed, sure the man was going to take her back to her brothers’ or her parents’ where she belonged.
Where they could take care of her. Until Doug could convince her to let him take on that role for life.
But no. Fields had just carried her away.
Doug sat there in his luxury Lincoln and watched as that bastard carried Genny into his condo. Genny had her arms wrapped around another man’s neck, looking like she was exactly where she wanted to be.
With Fields.
Not him.
She was just as slutty as all the other women at Barratt County Gen. That whore.
She…she was better than this.
Why didn’t she understand that?
She deserved far more than to be one of Fields’s whores.
Doug stayed right there for hours. Until the light flickered in Fields’s condo.
She was probably already in that bastard’s bed. In his arms.
Instead of Doug’s, where she belonged. No. Why had she done this to him?
Doug just didn’tunderstand.

He was holdingher when she woke the next morning. Genny was wearing his t-shirt, and nothing else. The gorgeous Chad-wicked—he definitely was wicked—wore nothing at all.
Genny didn’t mind one bit.
Blue eyes popped open. It was a bit disconcerting to see her bestie’s eyes in a naked man’s face, but she could get used to it. Since Genny fully intended to get the man naked every chance she had from now on.
“Hey…” He leaned forward. She kissed him—gingerly. Maybe they hadn’t exactly been…wise…last night. “How are you feeling?”
“Ouch. But nothing you did to me…hurt.” Genny pressed one hand to her hurt ribs. “But I’m going to feel this for a while.”
“Hot shower? Bath in the jetted tub?”
“That sounds perfect.”
Just like the rest of her day.
Until Guthrie called with a story about Gene and Chantal that had Genny in a full-on panic. That panic didn’t go away until she got home.
And could see her bestie and Gene for herself.
Gene would be in a sling for a few weeks, but the man who had tried to hurt Chantal again was in jail where he belonged. Where he would be staying hopefully for a long, long time.
