I freeze. Wasn’t the night we spent together a one off? After all, we slept separately last night. Or at least he said he was preparing for his mission, and I fell asleep on one of his squashy couches.

Azul didn’t wake me.

I assumed he wanted to get it out of his system…his desire to bed me, and I was more than willing. Maybe we both needed to let off steam, scratch an itch, manage the attraction neither of us expected.

Only it wasn’t like any thing I expected.

It was glorious.

I spot the tall Tref in the front of the transport looking at us.

“You’ll have to purchase more than a wardrobe to get back into my good books, husband,” I retort loudly, causing Azul to lift his head.

The door opens, and I stalk out into the heat of the planet. The pink trio of suns high above are like a balm on my skin. I’ve spent all my life using vitamin D closets to get what my body needs, but now I understand why older humans said how much they missed our sun.

I hate the fact I can’t turn my face up to them, to worship them as ancient humans did. I hate I have to play a part, to this planet and to Azul.

But it’s what I’ve chosen. And whether or not he wants to share a bed, I’ve truly got to lie in mine.

AZUL

The excited Tref leads us into the luxury villa, chattering about all the amenities and making notes on her vid-screen about our preferences.

“Bring your wardrobe department as soon as possible,” I whisper to her conspiratorially as Jenna inspects the bedroom. “And your jewelers. I want to surprise my mate.”

“Of course.” She gives me a smile while her eyes light up with the thought of credits and her tip.

“And I want to be on the list of all the best parties, nothing the ordinary pleasure seeker will get entry to,” I add with a sniff.

“Absolutely!” She’s grinning now. Entry to these parties is expensive, and she’s getting the idea of what I’m prepared to spend.

The Tref presses a few icons on her vid-screen and there is a chime at the front door.

“That’ll be the wardrobe. The jeweler will be along very shortly.” She hurries away. “I’ll leave you in the capable hands of my colleagues.”

I remove a jewel from one of my cuffs and flick it over to her, and she catches it deftly. “For your assistance.” I give her a smileI hope isn’t genuine. The Tref gives me a swift bow and rushes away.

“What’s happening?” Jenna says as she exits the bedroom. “And by the way, that one is mine,” she adds, pointing at the room.

“You need a wardrobe if you’re going to pass as a princess, and you can’t turn up at every event in your wedding dress, or, in fact, the same outfit…twice.”

Jenna fixes me with her stunning eyes.

“You talk like you’ve done this before,” she says.

“Maybe I have,” I respond as I hear the wardrobe machine being moved through into the main living area of the accommodation.

Jenna doesn’t say anything. Instead she looks out through the floor to ceiling windows at our private garden.

“I haven’t,” she finally replies. “Keep that in mind before you go off on your mission. I need to know everything.”

“And you will know everything, my goddess,” I reply. “Know everything and have every pleasure.”

Jenna purses her lips in a strange fashion I’m sort of getting used to, but there’s a perfume from her which is undeniable.

My mate wants me, even if she tries to hide it.

“Is this the female I will be outfitting?” A voice jangles out from behind the wardrobe machine.
