Maybe some guys would have been sad and concerned for their girl, but the only thing on my mind? Who the fuck was AJ? And why the fuck was my girl so worked up over him?

I ducked behind the wall when she turned to come back and sat at the bench a few minutes later. I bought the damn icecream, and I counted to five before coming around the corner, plastering a neutral look on my face. I walked up over to her.

“Hey, mama. They didn’t have strawberry ice cream, but I got strawberry cheesecake. That fine?”

I held out the cone to her, and she took it and licked it.

Fuck, she even licked ice cream like she was licking my cock. My pants became tight as I kept watching her. Even though I was pissed, I couldn’t control how her actions turned my body on.

“It’s delicious!” She giggled and then looked up at me. “You okay? Do you want to sit down? Or walk around the shops while we eat?”

I hesitated. What I wanted to do was ask her who this AJ was. But this wasn’t the place. I would ask her later, when we got home maybe.

I nodded and kept eating my ice cream. “Let’s walk.”

I didn’t wait for her. I started walking, and I heard her scramble to get up and catch up to me. We ate in silence as we kept walking back along the shops until we got to the parking lot. I walked over to my bike and started to put on my helmet when she touched my arm.

“Are you feeling okay? Did the ice cream make your stomach upset?” Rosalie asked.

I gripped her wrist and faced her, shoving her helmet into her chest.

“Yeah, I feel like shit. We’re going back,” I gritted out and climbed on my bike.

She looked worried and then quickly put her helmet on and hopped on the back of the bike, wrapping her arms carefully around me. I put the key into the ignition, and we took off. I didn’t waste time and blew through every red light I could until we were back to her place. I parked and stormed to the front door and let myself in as she struggled to take off her helmet next to the bike. I kicked off my boots and then peeled off myjacket, throwing it onto the floor. I stormed over to the couch and sat down.

This day was supposed to be fixing last night, but now, we had a whole different issue to discuss. And depending on her answers, this could be a rougher night.

She entered the house and quietly took off her shoes before walking over and sitting next to me. “Kordell… is everything okay? Did something else happen with your clubhouse?” she asked carefully.

I could hear the worry in her voice. She was concerned for me. And I knew my response was going to come out harsh before I even opened my mouth. I leaned forward in my seat, resting my elbows on my knees. I laced my fingers together slightly as I looked at her. My eyes traveled up and down her body.

My beautiful girl, who the fuck had you looking like you did earlier? Because it sure the fuck wasn’t me.

“Who’s AJ?” I asked coldly, my eyes narrowed at her, my fist clenched.

Her eyes went wide in surprise, and then her expression became nervous as tears started to form in the corners of her eyes.

“W-who?” she stuttered nervously, breaking eye contact and looking randomly around the room. Finally, her eyes landed on her hands in her lap.

“You heard me. Who the fuck is AJ?” I asked again. “Don’t play with me. Don’t you sit here and try to pretend that name wasn’t triggering you. And before you fucking act like it’s no one, I saw you at the gym today.”

Her face shot up at me, and she had a mortified look on it. A tear slipped down her cheek. “Y-you did?!” she cried out softly.

I nodded and then straightened up, letting my hands drop to hang on my knees. “Yeah, and from where I was standing, it looked like this AJ was someone you really liked. Someone youused to fuck. Maybe even the last guy you fucked before me, if I had to bet. So, fucking talk, mama.”

She took a deep breath, then exhaled, her whole face drooping in sadness and fear. “H-he was my ex. He left a few months before I met you, and I just… I guess I never really… got over… him.” Her voice fell off as she finished.

I stared at her for a moment before standing abruptly. He was her ex, and she wasn't over him. What if it had been him? Would she have left me there, looking like a fucking moron as she ran off with him?

“FUCK!” I yelled as I walked over to the wall and punched it, my hand breaking through the drywall.

I heard Rosalie yelp in the background as I ripped it back out. I hit it again and again, until my hand was numb and probably fucked up. But seeing a giant hole in the wall made me feel a little better for a moment.

I turned to see her scooting all the way on the opposite side of the couch from me, her knees tucked under her as she had tears streaming down her face. She looked afraid. GOOD. She should be. I had every thought to walk out of her house and life right now. Really fucking leave her all alone with her feelings for her fucking ex, who had obviously dumped her based on what she said. But then I’d be letting this guy who was no longer even here fuck with what I wanted. And I did still want Rosalie. I might even have fallen for her a bit. And after all I’d done for her, all the hours I’d spent riding here from the clubhouse, all the time I took off from the club that put me in the position I was in now, it was all because of her. I knew I was going to lash out at her, and maybe she would hate me after. Or maybe she wouldn’t. I wasn’t going to hold back because the odds were fifty-fifty either.

I walked back over toward her, and she tensed and leaned away slightly.

“K-Kordell… I’m sorry! I-I didn’t want you to find out! I’m getting o-over him! I promise!” she sobbed.
