I let him lead me though the clubhouse to his room, where he set my bag out for later. Then, we walked back out and rejoined the party. Music was blasting, and there was plenty of food to eat. Kordell grabbed a drink, and I looked around and grabbed a soda, following him back outside, where we took some seats around a garage. People were laughing, and Kordell couldn’t shake the big smile that had been on his face since I’d arrived. It was nice, seeing him so happy, but I wondered what had happened.

“Kordell? What are we celebrating?” I asked before sipping my soda and looking over at him.

He turned his attention to me again and reached over and brushed my hair behind my ear. “Mmm, you’ll see soon, little mama,” he cooed out sexily with his smooth voice.

He traced his thumb along my jawline before bringing it up to my lips, then dragged it down, tugging my lower lip open. Once it snapped back, I bit it. Okay, why was he trying to be such a turn-on right now? He had to know people were still watching us, but he didn’t seem like he cared. Which was weird because Kordell always cared when other people were staring at me.

As we were sitting there, chatting and laughing about different things, a few more bikes pulled in. Kordell’s smile got even bigger when he looked over and saw who they were.

“Hey, President!” he yelled across to Damien.

She looked in his direction, and he jerked his head toward the new arrivals, which her eyes went over to. She sighed before standing and walked over to the guys getting off their bikes. She pulled one aside and talked to him.

“Are you fucking kidding me right now?!” he yelled and then threw his helmet hard against the ground, cracking it.

Yikes, he didn’t seem happy with whatever she had told him. But Kordell busted out laughing before taking another long drink from his glass. He watched the guy storm into the clubhouse before looking back at Damien, who had started to walk back over to us.

She came to a stop in front of Kordell. “I’ll be making the public announcement in a few minutes. Be ready.”

He nodded at her. “Oh, you know I’m ready, Prez. Been ready for months now.” Then, he turned his attention to me. “Mama, can you go in and get me a refill? I’m out.”

He held out his glass to me, and I smiled and took it.

“Sure thing! Be right back!” I got up from my chair and walked through people to get to the clubhouse door.

Opening it and walking inside over to the bar where the drinks were, I began grabbing another drink. Just as I was about done, I felt a hand around my waist. Thinking it was Kordell, I giggled and turned.

“I thought I was getting your drink for you, silly.”

But it wasn’t Kordell. Instead, it was the guy who had been really angry a few moments ago after Damien talked to him. I couldn’t think of his name off the top of my head… started with an M.

Is it Mark… Mike… Matt… MACK!

That was what it was. He was their business guy, I remembered being told.

“I’ll take anything you want to make me, baby,” he said into my ear as he leaned down, his hand trailing over my stomach and tugging me a little back into his body.

I twisted and pulled out of his reach, making a little space between us. “I’m sorry. I thought you were Kordell. That’s my bad.”

He stood there with a really annoyed but flirty look on his face.

“I’m much better than him, baby—I can promise you that. One night with me, you wouldn’t give a shit to be on his dick. You can ask any of the women here, and I’d be willing to make you my only girl if you said you’d leave him.”

He took a step closer, and I grabbed the drink from the bar that was refilled and walked around him, trying to stay out of his reach.

“You know, thanks for the offer, but I’m good. Anyway, I’d better get out there. He’s waiting for me, you know?”

I quickly turned and jogged back out the door and over to Kordell, trying to keep my smile on my face as I sat back down next to him and handed him his drink. “Here you go!”

He smiled and took it, and a minute later, Damien stood on top of an SUV near us and started to speak loudly.

“I need everyone’s attention. I know we’re all having a good time. Our clubhouse is doing good after yesterday's business transaction. But there is an important matter we have been needing to address for a while now, and today’s the day it’s handled. After all his efforts over the past few months, one man has stood out from the rest to be able to move into the vice president’s spot after our last VP passed away. And that man, who I am confident will honor his legacy and help lead this clubhouse into more successful ventures, is Kordell! Welcome him as the BLVD Riders’ official new vice president as of today.”

She hopped down and walked a new jacket to Kordell with a new large patch on the back and a patch on the front. It readVice Presidenton the top andBLVD Ridersunder the clubhouse logo. He pulled his old one off and put on the new one, and shook her hand.

The people sitting around us erupted into cheers and whistles. This was a BIG deal. Even I knew that from the little I did know about clubhouse rules. Jayden used to be the vice president of the clubhouse he was in.

He stood up and nodded and greeted people who came over to congratulate him.
