I turned to look at him. “Something on my face?” I asked innocently.
He laughed and shook his head.
“Think you’ll be okay on your own for a few minutes? I need to go do something real quick.” He stood up and reached down, petting my cheek, and I felt them get warm as I looked up into his eyes.
“Uhhh… um… y-yeah! I’ll be alright!” I piped out as he smirked down at me.
“All right, keep watching the races, and I’ll be back before you know it. Stay right here, Rosalie. Don’t leave without me.” He never phrased things like a question. It was always a demand.
One time, I had wandered off after he told me to stay put, and he was so upset. I thought he was mad, but he said he had been worried. But something in my gut had told me he was downplaying it, so after that, I never left when he told me to stay put. Just to be safe.
I kept watching the races, and a few more bouts happened when something about one of the new two riders lining upcaught my eye. He was built similarly to Kordell, and the bike he was on was so freaking pretty for a bike. It was a deep red with dark steel and gold accents. The rider looked up in the stands, and for a moment, I thought he stared straight at me before he waved to the entire crowd.
The racers lined up, focusing on the track. The one on the red bike glanced up toward me and revved hard, sending a little burst of flame out of his exhaust. Okay, so that was kind of hot. For a minute, I was glad Kordell wasn’t here because I bet he would hate it if he saw me getting turned on over another guy. I held my breath as the light turned green, and they flew off the line, neck and neck for only a few seconds before the red biker flew ahead with another burst of fire from his exhaust. He gapped the other racer, finishing a whole five seconds before his opponent.
The racers returned, and then the one on the red bike hopped off and tugged his helmet off. Holy moly. It was Kordell. He jumped the barrier as the crowd parted, and he took the stairs two at a time until he was in front of me.
“Enjoy the race, little mama?” he said with the biggest grin I had ever seen on his face.
Speaking of face, I had to close my mouth because I was so shocked it was Kordell who had just done that amazing race.
“Kordell?! What—WHEN did you get a drag bike?!”
This had totally caught me off guard. I was very aware that all eyes in the stands were on us for a moment as people whispered around us.
“Hey, isn’t that…”
“You’re right! I thought he had retired!”
“Yo, this is dope. What a comeback!”
“Kordell, can you sign my helmet?”
The people around us obviously knew who he was, and it dawned on me at this moment that he had completelyminimized just how big he was in the drag bike circuits with people being able to tell who he was after years away from it all.
He leaned down to my ear and whispered, “You look so fucking hot when you’re flustered.”
Cue goose-freaking-bumps again! What was this, the twentieth time today? I had lost count hours ago.
He pulled me up and gave the people around him a wave, signing a couple of things really fast before he pulled me in close.
“Let’s go back and check out more of the bikes, mama. Plus, I need to return the gear.”
We walked down the stands and back toward the lot that held all the racers’ bikes again. We first went to the guy who Kordell had borrowed the bike and gear from. He used to be close rivals with Kordell and, ironically, had turned into a friend. He explained to me that after a really bad accident that if Kordell hadn’t been around to see, he would have probably died before anyone else had driven by.
Then, we began to walk through the rows of bikes once more. Kordell’s hand brushed against mine, and as he grabbed mine firmly in his, a spark of excitement shot through me again. We stopped by another gorgeous bike, and he leaned in close, his lips a breath away from my ear.
“Impressed, mama?” he whispered, his words running through my body like warm honey.
I turned to face him. My heart raced with a mix of desire and longing from us teasing each other all day. “That’s one word to use,” I replied, my voice almost a whimper as my lips pouted a bit. God, I really wanted to kiss him again already.
He didn’t hesitate. His lips crashed against mine in a passionate kiss that left me breathless. The world rushed around us and faded away. It was just me and Kordell, lost in the moment.
When the kiss finally ended, we stood there, panting, our arms wrapped around each other, as headlights passed by and caught our silhouettes. Heck, I was so dang turned on right now. I leaned in and kissed him, and he gripped my waist tighter, pulling me roughly into his body. I could feel his hard cock pressed against me.
Kordell pulled away with a reluctant sigh, but a mischievous glint was in his eyes. “Come on. Let’s bounce.”
We made our way back to his bike. He quickly helped me with my helmet. He barely got it on before he pulled me on, and we drove away. But we didn’t get far, just into a different parking lot on the event grounds, when he parked up again. I was confused. Maybe something was wrong with his bike? I hopped off, and he swung his leg over and yanked his helmet off again. Reaching over he unfastened my helmet strap and tugged it off. I smoothed my hair as he put both helmets on the ground.
