Her eyes flashed, and immediately, I knew that was the wrong thing to say.

She growled, “Time sensitive?” her chest was rising and falling rapidly, “Time. Sensitive? It was time-sensitive over an hour ago when we were supposed to be at our doctor’s appointment to make sure the twins were in the proper placement for delivery. It was time-sensitive for us to be there so we could ensure they were healthy. It was time sensitive for us to go over our birth plan.”

Fuck.

Me.

I ran my hand through my hair and muttered, “Shit.”

The brother’s eyes were on me, and I knew they were all smirking.

Stoney piped up then, “We tried to warn him, mama. He didn’t think you would be mad.”

She glared, “Then y’all should have forced him to postpone this time-sensitive matter for four hours. You all knew that we had an appointment today. It was written on the freaking calendar so y’all wouldn’t be interrupting him on important matters. Are y’all trying to tell me that the birth of our daughters isn’t important?”

None of them spoke.

Chloe growled, then stomped into the clubhouse.

Knowing her mood, I hauled my ass after her.

My brothers followed suit.

When the door opened, it was for everyone to hear, “If you’re not a brother, get the fuck out of this clubhouse. If you’re a club girl, enjoy your freaking night off and go have some fun. Consequences be damned.”

Fuck.

Shit.

Pres.

“Chloe, Darlin’, don’t be like that,” Trigger held his hands up.

Chloe spun on her heel, her arms crossed over her very pregnant belly, and she lifted a brow. “If Mama isn’t happy. Then nobody is happy. Get the fuck over it.”

Yeah, she was pissed.

She was madder than hell.

Her temper showed it.

Her decisions showed it.

But it was the curse word that fell from her lips that told that truth.

Slowly, with my hands up, I walked to her and then carefully wrapped her in my arms.

“I’m so sorry, Doll Baby. But there was a woman who was being beaten, and she already miscarried three kids. She couldn’t go through anymore. And she needed to be here for the three kids she already had. We had one opportunity to get them out. I’m sorry. I love you.”

She huffed, then said, “I love you too, you inconsiderate jackass. Your ass is still on the couch tonight.”

And with that, she moved away from me and left the clubhouse.

Trigger asked in a low tone, “Since she’s gone, think we can call the club girls back?”

But apparently, it wasn’t low enough for my woman not to hear it, “If you call the club girls back here, every single one of you will also be caught off from Kitty Korner for a freaking week. Don’t. Test. Me.”

Every single one of the brothers winced.
