Broken alliance. Secret: Ogre rape Mammon’s daughter. They do not
Shay disappears mid-sentence, her body vanishing just as Gray comes bursting inside the room. He wears a large grin, but it falls the second he smells Shay. I gulp, nervously touching the paper she was writing on.
“Silas!” he shouts, shoving the door against the wall as he storms inside and searches my office.
I cringe as Silas pulls open his office door. His body goes rigid as he rounds the corner to my room, his eyes moving immediately to me.
“Why was Shay in here? How long?” he hisses through clenched teeth. “Why the fuck didn’t you call for us?”
Aziel’s office door swings open the moment Shay’s name leaves Silas’s lips, and I cave in on myself as he comes storming into my office. The room feels suffocating with all three of them inside, and I watch as Aziel shoulders both Silas and Gray out of the way, his black eyes locked in on me.
“I—” I start, my voice cracking. “She just wanted to talk.”
Aziel’s nose crinkles as he snatches the paper off my desk and reads over our written conversation. His knuckles turn white as he grips the edges of the sheet, his fingernails digging into and ripping the thin paper.
He looks furious as he turns and hands the note to Silas.
I sink into my chair, avoiding eye contact.Oh, god. I hate when Aziel gets mad.
His breathing is loud, and I avoid eye contact as Silas reads over and hands the note to Gray. Neither of them seems particularly concerned with Aziel’s current emotional state.
“You’ve lost office privileges,” Aziel says, his voice void of emotion.
Without waiting for a response, he steps forward and begins grabbing the items on my desk. I scramble to snatch my things back, alarmed by his actions.
“What?” I ask, disorientated.
“Until you learn that you can’t sit around and have secret conversations with a female who wants to kill you, you won’t have privacy,” he decides, rudely ripping my stapler out of my hand.
I gasp, my anger flaring as Silas and Gray step forward and begin to help him collect my things.
“Hey!”
I struggle to grab as many of my things as possible, but all three men smoothly ignore me as they steal my items faster than I can save them. My eyes grow wet as they carry my things out of my room.
I know it was stupid not to call out when she appeared, but it’s not as if she hurt me.
We should look into what she’s saying.
I jump to my feet and follow them into the hallway, my cheeks growing red as they take my things into Gray’s office. Aziel drops my belongings carelessly on the couch before going back for more.
“Stop! I’m sorry,” I plead, reaching out and grabbing his wrist. “It won’t happen again.”
He shakes me off. Gray wraps a hand around my waist and tugs me aside.
Aziel seems to lose his last semblance of sanity and begins to full-on throw my things across the hallway into Gray’s office. I wince as my precious treasures bounce off the floor, but I don’t make any moves to stop him. The last thing I need is to get caught in the crossfire of his pitching practice.
“Do you want to talk about what she said?” I whisper.
All movement stops, even from Aziel.
“No,” Silas says, disappearing.
I stare at where he once was as Aziel returns to his launching. Thankfully, I don’t have too many items, and it doesn’t take long for Aziel to empty my office. Gray pulls me into the hallway and makes me watch as the Wrath slams the door shut and breaks the lock.
Aziel looks murderous as he storms into Gray’s office and rips out the drawer I keep stocked with snacks.
“You’ll get this back when you learn to stop risking your life for the lies of a jealous Envy,” Aziel hisses, clutching the drawer to his chest.
