“You are lucky to have a male such as me. I am a perfect specimen.” He opens his arms. “I’m big and strong. Bigger and stronger than all the others. I can protect you and look after you. Our children will be strong, too. I am a good male. You need to take off your pants. I will give you two minutes to prepare for me.”

Prepare for him?

Prepare!

“I said no,” I say in a clipped tone. I know it won’t help, but I have to try.

“I’m going to claim you and put my seed in you, whether you like it or not. I suggest you prepare, or I might hurt you.” He looks down at his erection. “It is going to be a very tight fit.” He smiles like he just told me the biggest joke.

“It would be rape is what it would be.”

“It would not be the first time I’ve taken a woman against her will. The first one enjoyed it by the time we finished. She had a good time. She even thanked me afterward. Kissed me and hugged me, but I still ended up getting banished from the city for the rest of my days like a dog,” he growls. “You females.” He shakes his head. “All liars. Every last one of you. She went straight to the governing body. They believed her over me. The king himself sat in at my farce of a trial. He gave the ruling himself. I got banished from the city for life…for life for fucking a female who enjoyed it.”

“You just told me that you raped her. Shedidn’tenjoy it. You’re delusional.”

“She thanked me afterward. She was all over me, kissing me…begging me for more.”

“I doubt it. I think that she was probably afraid for her life, and rightly so.” This guy is mad. I can see it in his eyes.

“Bullshit! Your time is up, female. Once I sink my cock and my teeth into you, you will be mine. There will be no going back. No one will be able to take you from me. On your knees.”

“Fuck off! No means no!” I yell.

It doesn’t help. I don’t expect this monster to listen to me. He’s beyond listening.

With a speed that is uncanny, he lunges for me, snapping a bra strap and exposing a breast. I quickly cover up, using an arm. “Leave me alone. I said no!”

“You will do nicely,” he says, grabbing my arms in much the same way as the smaller guy. Only, his fingers will leave bruises.

He puts both my hands in one of his and grabs at my jeans. There’s a ripping sound; my button goes flying. I try to yank free, but it feels like he has me in a vise.

“No! Don’t!” I start screaming.

“Quiet,” he growls at me. “Quiet, or I will hurt you. I don’t want to hurt you.”

I don’t listen; I keep screaming for all I am worth.

I flinch when he pulls back his arm, intent on hitting me. “Last chance. Be quiet!”

He’s going to have to hit me, and more than once. I know he’ll quickly overpower me, but I have to try. I keep screaming, but he doesn’t hit me as expected.

He lets go of one of my hands, yanking me against him and putting an arm firmly around me.

My pants are half down my hips. I pull them up before cupping my naked breast.

Three more dragons land one after another. The clearing is suddenly full to capacity. None of the dragons is Creed.

Where are you?

My eyes are stinging, and my throat feels clogged. I’m trying not to panic. It won’t help me. Creed was right; shifters can be like animals.

One of the dragons rears back and snarls; smoke wafts all around us. I cough. He’s that close. If they start fighting, I’m either going to be badly injured or killed outright.

One of the dragons shifts. He has dark hair and green eyes. “Hand her over,” he tells Tank. “You’re outnumbered. We’re taking her.”

We are base creatures. We’re governed by instinct.

Creed was spot-on with all of his descriptions. I need to look at all the facts and to find a way out of this. I have to. I have a few moments while they are distracted.
