Page 6 of Alpha Games
We cheered on cue as the spotlight panned to stage left and the Alphas came strutting out from behind the curtains. My jaw hit the floor as Fallon let out a two-fingered whistle.
Chad Tulia was first, wearing nothing but a baby blue speedo barely containing the package within and oil slathered over his muscular chest.
I was howling with laughter, cheering harder as Landon North came out in a shiny red speedo next and he flexed his biceps for the cameras.
All the girls were whooping and screaming.
My hands froze mid-clap as Ranger came walking out barefoot and wearing black board shorts. By the size of his cock swinging in the material, I could understand why he couldn’t wear a speedo. His black tattoos wisped like shadows on his bronzed skin in the spotlight and a dark glow surrounded him.
My mouth dried. I licked my lips.
His gaze swept over the crowd, seeming to land straight on me. He winked.
My heart stopped dead in my chest.
Only to be kickstarted again when one of the females let out a catcall whistle.
Kill the bitch,my wolf started growling possessively.
Rein it in,I tugged her back. We’re not here for him.
We weren’t.
Were we?
I tore my gaze away as Ranger took his position on stage and kept cheering for the rest of the Alphas.
“And last, but not least, we have Trenton from Nuva Pack,” Jay introduced him.
I bit down on my lips to keep from laughing.
“You’re doing great,”I mind-linked him.“Chin up. Pecs out.”
He really had that pretty-boy mechanic look down with his white speedo and flashing all his teeth at the crowd.“Not another word.”
“Okay.”I giggled, watching as he took his spot on stage and trying not to let my eyes drift to Ranger.
I thought the Luna Trials were bad, but at least they didn’t parade us out in bikinis like some beauty pageant.
“These are the males our lucky Lunas will have a chance to mate once we finish the games in less than two weeks. Give it up a final time for the Alphas of the 7thannualMating Season.”
I cheered loudly, but my heart wasn’t in it as I replayed the echo of Jay’s words in my head.
Less than two weeks.
At some point, I’d stopped counting. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d seen a calendar. My heat was coming. I felt the biological pull like aticking clock, but I’d stopped caring about the minutes until it was over.
I wasn’t sure how that happened.
Or why.
Because I’ve got this one.My wolf stretched herself out languidly, licking her paw as I glanced back to where Ranger stood on stage. Even his stance was powerful, setting him apart from the other wolf shifters. The rest of the men seemed smaller in his presence. Or he might’ve just looked bigger in my eyes. Scarier. A true predator.
My heart beat faster as the lights dimmed and the cameras panned out.
The director stood from his chair, yelling, “Cut!”
