He stilled as his teeth grazed my skin. “Safe word, Aspen.”

I took a deep breath as the panic washed over me.

I wasn’t there.

I was here in my nest with my mate.

And I only bent the neck because I wanted to. I was the one in control here.

“No safe word.” I pushed my ass back against his hips, shoving his thick cock impossibly deepinside me, and rocked forward, dragging it along my g-spot. “Are you going to claim me or what?”

Ranger groaned as he gave a few teasing pumps, hitting the right spot just so. Slow. Torture. The pressure started building. He tightened his grip on my hair. And I was there. On the edge.

“Come for me,” he commanded as he sunk his teeth into my flesh.

The pain and pleasure fused, igniting every nerve ending as my soul left my body only to merge with his. Heat and light slammed into us as the cords of fate snapped into place, binding our souls together with his bite.

Ranger pumped his release into me as he licked the blood dripping down my neck. I felt the hunger of his beast deep, flowing through me like a second heartbeat, as my wolf howled her triumph to the moon.

The world and all the colors within it were still fluttering as I drifted down from lofty heights. My throat was hoarse from screaming. Strong arms wrapped around me. A soft kiss pressed against my cheek. Complete. Mated. Fate.

And Iknewwith a deep and primal knowing.

Told you I was right.

“Uh.” I didn’t actually have words to say. I touched my neck as the golden afterglow still burned bright.

“I can feel you inside me,”I spoke through our newly formed link. The thudding in my chest wassolid now, thick with his presence, just as his knot swelled inside my core, locking me in place.

“I could always feel you,” Ranger murmured sleepily. “But your impatient ass had to go and make it official. For the record, I would have waited.”

Damn this man.I rolled my eyes as I snuggled down onto his chest, feeling his heart beat in tune with mine.

“You know I can hear your thoughts now, right?”Ranger’s laughter was inside my head.

My eyes flew open as my beast whined.

We are so screwed.

I wasn’t quite sure when Aspen’s heat broke. There was no grand finale to the event. It would’ve happened sometime between an orgasm and the sleep that followed. Despite how intense this season had been, I’d never napped more in my life.

My mate bore my mark proudly with her hair thrown up in a messy bun and her fangs extended as we marched down the mountain to the beat of helicopter blades whirring. Jones and Foster and Beau and the rest of my pack joined us, forming a barrier of security around their fired-up Luna.

I’d felt the bond as Alpha to my sister break sometime in the days prior, but I still had a family connection with her.“We’re going to raise hell. You coming?”

“Not this time.”My sister laughed, sounding lighthearted.“I’m so freaking done with this show.”

It didn’t feel like a loss with her leaving. Not a goodbye like I always imagined it would. More so a ‘see you later.’“Tell John he still owes me a talk.”

“Will do.”My sister’s howls followed me as we continued on our warpath. The helicopters were already lifting off by the time we reached the valley.

Filming locations were being set up with a backdrop of the picturesque pond. They’d already cleared the Tulia’s nests away. I should’ve hadsympathy for the women, but I couldn’t find it in me. They’d probably be on the next season anyway. At least Cindy wouldn’t be punished for acting as a wolf. Too bad it wouldn’t be considered an official Alpha challenge and she could inherit the Tulia Pack for her troubles. Then again, if she had the right team, she might be able to do some damage.

“Mr. McCaw.” A production crew member went wide-eyed as we approached the tents being erected for the makeup crews and show staff. “If you’ll please come this way.”
