“But my drinks do. Where’s the good stuff? It’s got to be 2 A.M. somewhere,” Lou said with a grabbing motion.
“You’re in rare form,” Cage said taking a swig.
“He misses, Titus,” Quin explained to Cage.
“You guys go to the same school,” Cage said to Lou.
“Yeah but between school, his business, and Mayoral duties, I barely see him,” he said faking tears.
“That’s what happens when you marry into politics,” Cage quipped.
“You’re married,” I asked stunned.
“No,” Lou said again faking tears.
Cage added, “Whatever you do, don’t propose to him. He’s likely to say yes.”
Everyone snickered.
“That’s right. Laugh at my pain. I hate you all,” Lou said upset.
“But you know we love you,” Quin told him, giving him a hug.
“Speaking of married,” Lou began, turning the table. “When are you finally going to make an honest woman out of this one,” he said to Cage.
Quin let Lou go and hunkered down by Cage’s side.
“Maybe when his dad gets done writing our prenup,” Cage said with a hint of tension.
“You’re making him sign a prenup?” Lou asked Quin.
“My dad is before he will bless the wedding.”
“Good for him,” Lou responded. “You know Cage is only after you for your body, right? What if something happens between you two? Which half is he going to get?”
“Our prenup says, the bottom,” Cage joked. “But I only want my baby for his brain.”
“Aww, Cage,” Quin said turning around and kissing his boyfriend.
Lou made a puking sound.
I turned to Cali who had been the only one not to speak. Thinking I was looking for an explanation, he said, “Quin’s a genius and his father’s a billionaire.
I mouthed, Wow, to him.
“We’re being rude,” Kendall inserted, turning to me.
Lou responded with, “We are. I’m sorry, what were we making fun of you for, again?”
I pretended not to remember.
“Don’t mind him,” Kendall said. “What brings you to this neck of the woods?”
“Running from the mob?” Lou asked.
That didn’t get the same reaction from everyone.
“What? Too soon?” Lou asked looking around.
