“You’ve been in there for five minutes.”

“You’re timing me? You know, you can go somewhere else. I’m pretty sure I’ve got this.”

“Yeah, your brother told me you would say that.”

“Where is dear brother, anyway?”

“He went to work. You’re stuck with me.”

I stared at the door in horror. He was going to be with me the whole day? I couldn’t have that. “Don’t you have to get to work?”

“I took a few days off.”

“For what?” I screeched.

The door flung open, making me gasp. I immediately cringed from the sharp inhalation, which only had Edu marching over to me. “What hurts? Do you need medicine?”

“No, I told you I’m fine.”

“You’re grimacing.”

“Because I stubbed my toe,” I lied.

“How can you stub your toe sitting on the toilet?”

“Can you stop mentioning that I’m on the toilet?”

His brows furrowed as he stared down at me. “Why do you care if I say toilet?”

“Because I’m on the toilet and I don’t think it needs to be mentioned! You shouldn’t even be in here!”

A sexy smirk slid over his face, which only further pissed me off. “Harper…I’ve done some very dirty things to you.”

“I’m aware,” I huffed. “I was there, remember?”

“So, why is this a big deal?”

“Excuse me for wanting privacy on the toilet. You know, I’m not one of those people who would ever barge in on you while you’re on the toilet. There are boundaries. And we’re not even dating. I think this crosses more than a few lines.”

He rolled his eyes at me. “Oh, please. I’m not watching you pee or intruding on your space. I’m here to help you.”

“Well, I don’t need your help,” I snapped. “I’m perfectly fine on my own.”

“Are you?”

“Yes. I don’t need a babysitter.”

“That’s not exactly what I was doing.”

I huffed in irritation. “Yeah, I can see that.”

His whole body stiffened. “Fine. I can leave.”

“Thank you,” I said sarcastically.

God, I was being such a bitch, but I couldn’t stand for him to see me like this. I still wanted to sleep with the man, and he wouldn’t want me if he kept seeing me as such a weakling.

As his boots marched away, I desperately wanted to call out to him and tell him to stay, but my pride wouldn’t let me. The door slammed shut and I was alone. Sighing, I decided there was no time like the present to pee. I had to get off the toilet and find something to eat before I could take any pain medication.
