I did mean it, and I think I’ve loved him for a long time now.
But he doesn’t need to know all my secrets, and drunk me needs to shut up and keep her thoughts to herself.
He simply laughs and kisses me. “You love me,” he whispers against my lips.
I rest my forehead against his and nod.
Yeah, I fucking love him.
We share another sweet, gentle kiss filled with emotion.
He takes me back to the clubhouse, to his bedroom, to stay the night.
No River.
No hiding.
Just him, and me.
Finally.
Chapter Nineteen
Damon
I leave my motorcycle at the club and take Corey home in the car, because she’s had one too many drinks to sit on the back safely. I’ve never brought a woman back to the clubhouse, mostly because I never wanted anyone in my business, but also because it always felt too personal to have them in my space, surrounded by my family. But with Corey it feels so natural.
“I just wanted to say that I should have told you I was going to come out tonight,” she says, staring at my profile as I drive. “I mean, it was a last-minute decision after you told me you were there, but still. Thinking of you being around sexy women dancing made me extremely jealous, and I was impulsive.”
“You can trust me, Corey. If I wanted to fuck around with dancers, I could have been doing that this whole time. I only want you,” I assure her, reaching out and touching her thigh. “No one else.”
“Okay.” She nods, resting her hand on my own. “Then I will trust you until you give me a reason not to. Tonight ended up being the best night ever, though. River accepted us and let me leave with you, and I had an amazing time with the girls. And I even made a new friend in Echo. I think she really needed some friends tonight, and I’m glad she came and hung out with us. She gave me her number, so next time we do something I can invite her.”
“I’m sure she’d love that,” I reply, smiling at her excited tone. One thing I’m not going to do is tell her that Echo did kind of hit on me tonight, because I don’t need to ruin their friendship before it begins.
“Where are we going?” she asks, when I don’t turn down the road leading to the clubhouse, taking a last-minute detour.
“I’m going to get you something to eat—and something to drink,” I tell her, parking the car at the service station. I lean over to her, kiss her, and then say against her lips, “Because the first time I’m going to have you, you aren’t going to be drunk.”
“Trust me, I’m suddenly feeling very sober,” she replies, teeth sinking into her lower lip.
I grin and get out of the car to buy some water, soda, painkillers, and snacks in case she has a hangover tomorrow.
“Let’s stop and get you something to eat,” I say to her when I slide back in.
“I’d love a burger,” she replies, so I head back the other way and stop to get her whatever she wants. “And then I’d love you to take me home and fuck me. Finally.”
I almost choke on my sip of water.
“I’m so ready, Damon, you have no idea. And the fact that it’s you that’s going to be my first makes me so fucking ready,” she sighs. “And I’m not drunk anymore, so don’t even try to use that as an excuse.”
Fuck.
I shift in my seat, my cock hardening. “If you want food, you’d better stay quiet, or I’m going to take you straight home and fuck you.”
She seems to consider my words, and then reaches over and strokes my thigh, and then my cock, a hiss escaping me at the contact over my jeans.
“Corey,” I warn.
