‘Do we know the extent of the damage yet?’ Lora asks.
‘No, and we won’t for some time.’
Lora’s phone rings and she frowns as she lifts it from her pocket. ‘I’m sorry I have to answer this,’ she says before heading into the back room. I’m desperate to follow her, but she obviously wants privacy right now.
‘Are you okay?’ Kali asks me, snapping my attention back to what she is doing.
‘Yes, thank you.’
She looks at me with a lopsided grin that tells me she knows I’m not being one-hundred-per cent honest. ‘You two should talk,’ she says, just as Lora reappears from the back room.
‘I’m sorry but I need to go, there’s an emergency with my mum.’
