He squeezes me tighter. “That’s why I love you, Maddie.”
“I love you too.” So much.
His hand trails down my spine. “You know…I have asked you to marry me…a couple times now.”
I smile kissing him with all the passion building inside me. “My answer is yes.”
“Thank fucking God.” He lifts me into his arms, my legs wrapping about his waist as his cock nestles into my folds.
I’m already wet but Roman spits into his hand, rubbing the spit at my entrance before he pushes inside me.
My back arches as I take him in, a needy moan falling from my lips. “When do you want to get married?” he says even as he pumps into me.
It’s either the best time or the worst time to have this conversation. I can barely think as I tug at his hair. “I don’t know. Everything has been so fast. We can take our time with the wedding, can’t we?”
“Agreed,” Roman slows the pace, kissing me long and deep. “Tomorrow we shop for a ring, though?”
I nod. I am absolutely fine wearing a piece of jewelry that tells the whole world I’m engaged to Roman Kincaid. “Definitely.”
“Anything you really want?”
I lean back, biting at my lip. The sparkle of jewelry is mostly lost on me. “I trust your taste.”
His hands are on my hips as he lifts me up so that I slide back down his cock, so full, I moan again.
“A sapphire, I think, vintage.”
I gasp at the thought of a dark blue stone, a color I’d be more likely to see than a pale diamond. And old with a bit of dinge is so me. It’s perfect.
We don’t talk as Roman picks up the pace, working my body until I explode around him.
When we finally get out of the shower, we collapse onto the bed, and I fall instantly asleep on his chest.
For a day filled with so much bad, there has also been so much good.
Lucia is just a few floors away, I’m safe from the Vendettis forever, and I’m marrying the love of my life.
How could things get any better?
EPILOGUE
Maddie
One year later…
The Colorado sunfills the large family room with so much natural light, the shape of the pine trees in enough contrast that I can make out their edges.
This is our…vacation house? Getaway?
I’m not totally certain but I have to be honest, I love it here. I can’t wait to be here when it snows.
We’ve just finished the construction of the rehab center on the outskirts of Vegas. And I took a few classes last semester.
It was amazing to be back in the classroom, to think of finishing my degree. But with construction done and school out, it seemed like the perfect time to get away.
The planners are coming in less than an hour and since Roman has stepped back from the company, he’s thrown himself into every detail of the build of the new center—and our wedding.
Honestly, he’s a man who likes to work hard and keep track of infinite number of details.
