Teddy scratches his jaw, glaring at the professor as he mulls it over. After a moment, he shrugs.

“None that I can see. My other thought was a professor, since Dick-wad has his PhD, but I’ve checked and none of the professors here are affiliated with him in any way. He received his certificates all along the East Coast.”

I nod, chewing my lip and scrambling to catch the last of the slide before Doctor Anderson flips to the next one. Teddy snorts.

“Slow down. I’ll just hack his computer and send you the slides, goofball.”

“Writing it down helps you memorize it better for testing,” I shoot back, becoming flustered. He sighs in annoyance, but then he goes quiet, and his silence makes me almost groan aloud.

“Which brings us to our next unit. Sexual deviancy. I’ll post trigger warnings before each lecture, but today will be more of an umbrella for what we will discuss these next two weeks.”

Teddy snorts.

“Think I’m sitting next to the most devious.”

My glare could burn a hole in my notes, but I turn it to him. He’s already staring down at me, that little smirk on his perfect face.

“I highly doubt that,” I hiss, quirking my brow at him. His grin turns sinister, and my heart begins to race, my palms sweaty.

“I think you’re right. There’s still so much you haven’t done.”

Now I have to choke back a laugh, because if this is some sort of pissing contest, I think I would win.

“So fucking my twin step-brothers at the same time doesn’t count?”

He shrugs, examining his chipped black nail polish.

“You’re not technically related, but if you want to look at it that way, you let your dear uncle fuck you into oblivion last night.”

I nearly choke as I sputter, as my twisted family tree clicks into place in my mind, and with a dark chuckle, Teddy reaches for my water bottle and hands it to me. Glaring through my tears, I grab it, but he leans in, lips at my ear.

“And on your birthday, I’ll show you what depravityreallyis, bunny.”

The rest of the week flies by in a blur. Although I am disappointed that Teddy and I haven’t found a chance to fuck at work just to shove it in Daniel’s face, there is also an upside to that; Daniel is out of town for work, whatever the fuck that means. All the girls are in a lighter mood, even Meg, and Oksana isn’t avoiding me as much as she was when we first talked.

Seated next to her in the dressing rooms as I apply layers and layers of gray to my eyelids—only to then douse them in glitter—she clears her throat and my heart sinks. I’ve been wanting to avoid whatever conversation she wants to have with me, but it seems my time has run out.

“Did you find him?” I ask softly, sealing off the chambers of my heart from the inevitable pain. Like Teddy said, it shouldn’t matter if the little girl is Jameson’s or not, and I’d be a bitch if I kept her from such an amazing man, but the jealousy is still potent, still there. The guilt follows soon after, because I am a hypocrite for fucking another man and expecting that they will somehow magically take me back with open arms after all I’ve done to them.

“Niet.”

My shoulders slump of their own accord, and as I cap the bottle of eyeliner, I glance at her. Her jawline is striking, but even more so is her body; every curve is perfection, her breasts ample but firm and perky, her face angelic and her eyes alluring. It’s no wonder Jameson fell for her, and it makes so many emotions swirl within me that I have to bat them all aside in order to focus and not cry.

“I’m…sorry.”

She shrugs, reaching for her lipstick.

“I just…would rather seek help from him, especially with landing here.”

I snort but nod.

“Understandable.”

She swipes a dark, cherry red lipstick on her plump lips.

“You’ve never told me how you know them.”
