“Nice to meet you, Marley.” I shake her hand as Silas wraps his arms around her from behind. She practically melts into the floor when he whispers something in her ear.

“You too,” she smiles, “your brother has told me a lot about you.”

We chat for a couple minutes before taking our seats around the table. As we’re about to start eating, my fathers cell phone rings. He pushes away from the table, bringing the phone to his ear as he stands.Looks like another holiday where we don’t get to eat as a family. He returns a moment later with a sad expression on his face. “Idris will be here in about fifteen minutes, we’re needed in New York right away.”

“Okay dear.” She smiles sadly at him. “Let’s eat our meal before he gets here.”

We eat in comfortable silence until Karrion stands abruptly, his fork clanging against the plate when it drops. Cali scoots her chair back, but I grab her thigh and shake my head no.

“I’m just going to check on him real quick.” She says quietly, trying to push her chair away.

“Leave him, Cali.” Silas warns. “He knows what to do when his head gets dark.”

“What does that even mean?” She squeals. “He could be hurting right now and nobody is going to see if he’s alright?”

“You know how his head gets, baby.” I rub her thigh. “If he was alright, he wouldn’t have walked away.”

“They’re right, hun.” My mom chimes in as she glances down at her watch. “He’ll come back when he’s in control again.” Just then, a horn honks outside and my parents stand from the table. We say our goodbyes quickly and watch as they climb into the back of the SUV and pull away.

Once they’re gone, we load the dishes into the dishwasher and sit in the living room while Alaric passes out everyone's gifts. Our parents may not spend as much time with us as we’d all like, but they’ve always gone out of their way to spoil us every time they come home. This year, we all got matching envelopes. Ric puts Karrion’s envelope back under the tree and sits down beside me. “Let’s open them up and go take a nap.” Ric laughs as he begins tearing his envelope.

“Holy shit,” Cali gasps, “that’s a lot of fucking money.” Glancing over at her, I see the check for a hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Marley squeals in excitement, showing Silas her check and kissing his cheek. “Thank them for me, please.”

Folding my check in half, I slide it into my wallet and grab Cali’s hand, pulling her toward the door. “We’re going to the hotel, see you guys in a couple days.” I call over my shoulder as we walk out the door.

Chapter 10

Rune

Rolling out of bed, I stretch my back out and head toward the bathroom. It’s been almost six months since Christmas, and everything has been perfect. Cali and I have been busy house hunting and planning her dream wedding. The only thing left to decide on is a date, but every time we have that discussion, it ends in an argument, so I’ve been avoiding that conversation altogether. She wants to get married right away, but I want to wait another year to see how we handle living together. I know she’s already living with me, but it’s different in a giant house that’s always full of people. What happens when she asks to bring home a dog or cat? Hell, what if she wants to bring home a fucking bearded dragon? These are all conversations we haven’t had before, because Karrion would never allow an animal in the house.

“What are you getting into today, Sweet Pea?” I ask as she pops her head out of the shower to smile at me.

“The realtor called earlier, a house just went on the market and she thinks it’s perfect for us.” She says. “Do you want to hop in here with me?”

“If I ever say no to that question, bury me.” Pulling my boxers off, I step into the shower behind her and wrap my arms around her waist. “What’s so perfect about this one?”

“Well, Mr. Grabby,” she smirks up at me, “it’s got five bedrooms and three baths,” she starts as I snake my hand lower and brush against her clit. “A dining room that’s separate from the kitchen.”

“Sounds good so far.” I drag my nose along her neck, inhaling the scent of her body wash, vanilla and mint, my two favorite smells. “How many acres?”

“Seventeen.” She says, resting her head against my chest while I continue to circle her clit. She squeezes my arm when I increase the pressure. “And there’s a pond.”

“When can she show it?” I ask, feeling her legs start to quiver. I only meant to tease her a little, but I can’t stop myself when her gorgeous pale blue eyes meet mine. Grabbing my cock, I slide it through her arousal and slam into her. She cries out as I thrust into her at a fast pace, her tits bounce with the motion and I grab one, rolling the nipple between my thumb and pointer finger. “When can she show it, Cali?” I growl, pushing her torso forward so she’s bent over in front of me. I grip both of her arms, using them as leverage to pull her back against me.

“An hour,” she pants, breathless. “I’m so close, please don’t stop.”

“We better hurry this along, then.” I release one of her arms and she flops forward, placing her hand on the wall to steady herself. “Cum for me.” I demand, rubbing her clit the way she likes it.

“Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck.” She chants as her juices drip from around my cock. Her pussy squeezing around me is enough tosend me over the edge. A few thrusts later, I fill her with my cum, a smile plastered across my face when she turns around. Pulling the shower head from its bracket, I quickly help her wash up before cleaning myself and turning the water off.

Once we’re dressed, we each grab a bagel from the kitchen and go meet the realtor. As soon as we pull into the driveway, I know this is the house for us. It has the wrap around porch that Cali wants, the driveway is big enough to have company over and not have to worry about blocking anyone in, and it has the perfect amount of trees around the property. We climb out of the car, meeting the realtor on the bottom step.

“Hi guys, thanks for coming on such short notice.” She smiles and shakes both of our hands before leading us inside, showing us around the inside of the house. Cali’s face lights up as soon as we step inside. We follow her into the large kitchen where there’s a small island, perfect for the two of us to have breakfast together. Following her back through the entryway, she shows us the living room, office and first bathroom before she opens the door that leads to the stairs. “The last owners had this door installed to keep the little one’s downstairs.” She informs us. “If you want to remove it, it’s a pretty quick fix.”

“It doesn’t bother me.” Cali says as we climb the stairs. There are two bedrooms on each side of the hallway to our right with a bathroom at the end. We turn to the left where the master bedroom and second office are. “This view is gorgeous.”
