He stopped kissing her and watched her face as he worked to bring her to orgasm, sliding back and forth between her clit and inside her. Her eyes closed, and she began to shake and whimper as he brought her closer. “Look at me, Mirabelle.” He demanded. Her eyes opened and found him. He held her gaze as his steady, consistent rhythm brought her to the brink, and just as she flew over the edge, he kissed her again, capturing her wordless cries and moans, and positioned himself to pushinto her. She cried out his name as a second orgasm rocked through her when he entered her.

“There's my good girl,” Bastian murmured as he slowly rocked back and forth, his eyes never leaving her face. “My gorgeous, perfect girl.” He reached down between them and found her clit again. Her eyes widened and met his.

“Bast, I can't; it's too much.” She gasped. Her body was singing, and the intense heat and pressure radiating outward from all the sensations were going to overwhelm her.

“Yes, you can, Bunny.” He encouraged her, although he did ease up on her a little. “I've got you; I won't let you go. Just relax, Honey, and let me take care of you. I love you so much, Mira.”

She whimpered as her body trembled. He held her gaze, keeping a slow and steady pace, and light, gentle pressure on her clit, allowing her time to work through all the sensations. “Are you okay, Love?” He asked gently, wanting to increase his speed but not wanting to overwhelm her. She wrapped her hands around his neck and pulled him down to kiss her.

“Yes,” she murmured against his lips. “Faster, please.”

Bast smiled. “Such a polite request.” He picked up his pace and increased his pressure on her clit. Mira moaned as the tension began to build inside of her again. “Fuck I love the sounds you make.” He groaned. “You're mine. All mine. Say it, Mira.”

“I'm yours, Bast, no one else, never anyone else.” She panted, her nails digging into his shoulders. He growled in satisfaction, and the sound sent her over. Her walls pulsed around him, and he groaned her name loudly, letting himself go. He rolled to the side and pulled her to him, holding her tightly and kissing her again.

“I'm yours, Mira, always have been,” Bastian muttered as he drifted off.

Chapter Twenty-Nine: Scorched Earth

After an early drive back to Ann Arbor the next morning, Mirabelle and Bastian were getting a late breakfast in the restaurant when she brought up her concerns regarding him at the bachelor party and the potential for him to get into a disagreement when they realized who he was. “I don't plan to get in a physical fight, Mira.” Bastian looked up from his eggs with a slight shake of his head. “But I’m not going to let them bully me. How do you want me to handle it?”

“Obviously, defend yourself if you need to, but don't make the first move.”Mirabelle cautioned him. “I don't want to have to bail you out and get licensed in Michigan to defend you in court.”

“I meant verbally,” Bastian chuckled. I intend to drop them if they come at me physically. Are we holding back about what actually happened and letting Eddie and Casey spin their story?”

“Oh! Fuck no.” Mirabelle’s eyes widened as she understood what he was asking. “Don't bring it up, but tell them what really happened if anyone brings it up.”

“You aren't worried it might drive a wedge between his parents and us?” Bastian wiped his mouth and sat back in thebooth, watching her carefully. “I don't want to cause issues between us and them.”

“I really don't think they'll care, they're done with all the crap Eddie and Casey have been pulling, but I'll apologize if I have to.” She finished her eggs benedict and sat back with a sigh. She wasn't too concerned about the Shea's response, but she didn't want to hurt them either. “I refuse to be painted as the crazy vindictive ex while they get away with what they did.”

“Alright, Bunny.” He grinned at her. “I'm on the same page. Commencing Operation Scorched Earth.” He raised his glass to her, and she mirrored him with a smile.

“Let it burn.”

At ten to four, Mirabelle met Eleanor in the lobby, and as they sat in a seating area to one side of the entrance to wait for Francesca, Lila, and Caroline to join them, Eleanor grinned at her wickedly. “Robert and I are now at odds because of you and Bastian.”

“Really?” Mirabelle looked at her in surprise, wondering what they could have possibly done. “Why?”

“Because he doesn't want to be within three rooms of you two in any direction when we travel together, and I kinda want to make sure we have adjoining suites.” She smirked at Mirabelle, her eyes light and teasing. “Apparently, Bastian made him feel a little pressured to perform, which benefited me greatly.”

“Oh!” Mirabelle felt her cheeks get hot and let out an embarrassed laugh. She hadn't realized she was so loud or that the walls were so thin. “I'm not sure if I should apologize or not.”

“Please tell me the secret, and I'll consider us even.” Eleanor leaned toward her conspiratorially. “We're no slumps in the sack by any means, but you two put us to shame.”

“I think we just feed off each other. Bastian needs to hear he's making you feel good; it turns him on, and because I want him to be turned on, I try to be vocal, but he also pays attention. If he's not getting the reaction he wants from me, he switches to something else.” She grinned. “But I'll be leaving a review about the lack of soundproofing in the rooms.”

“Oh, it wasn't super loud, but we knew you had three orgasms, and not to brag or anything, but I had four.” Eleanor snickered. “So yeah. Worked really well in my favour.”

Mirabelle chuckled as a tiny brunette woman with a chin-length bob approached them. “Lila!” Eleanor stood up and hugged her cousin. Mirabelle was only five foot four, but she had at least four or five inches on her. She stood up with a smile as Eleanor reached for her hand. “This is Mirabelle Avery, Eddie's ex-wife. Mirabelle, this is Lila Harkins; we're cousins on Dad's side, but I don't think you met when you were married to Eddie.”

“No, we didn’t. I believe you were in Australia when we were married.” Mirabelle shook her hand. “It's wonderful to finally meet you. I heard a lot about you from Eleanor and Caroline.”

“You as well.” Lila smiled brightly at her. “And, yes, Benji and I were living in Perth and couldn't get home for the wedding. Did I hear correctly that you came with the lawyer who represented you in the divorce?”

“Yes, I did.” Mirabelle nodded, returning her smile. She liked Lila's energy immediately. “But he's been my best friend for thirty years, and we got together after my divorce from Eddie was finalized.”
