She was looking forward to this once Michael told her that Cade asked.

They needed this time.

Things were going well but not back to where they were.

Maybe they could talk tonight if the opportunity presented itself.

But she had other things on her mind she’d rather do first.

“No,” he said. “Ty has the bunk beds because I thought they’d be fun.”

“Why don’t we not talk about kids tonight,” she said. “You know Ty is out cold and will be fine.”

Cade had texted thirty minutes ago to show Ty sleeping in Cameron’s room. They’d left the party a little earlier than some others, having the baby.

It allowed her and Michael to enjoy some time without him stressing and looking out for Ty the entire time.

“He will be fine,” he said. “And I want to focus the night on you. I want to give you something I feel I haven’t given you in weeks.”

“What’s that?” she asked.

“All of me. I don’t know why but there is part of me that worries you’re holding back and maybe I’m doing the same. We are feeding off of each other.”

She liked that he noticed it. That he brought it up before her too.

“I think we are. I don’t want to upset you and it could be you are doing the same. We are both guarded and the other is reacting that way.”

“Which goes back to us needing to talk. We just did. I’ve got nothing else more to say than what you just said. I recognized and acknowledged it.”

“The same,” she said, reaching up and hugging him. Her mouth went to his for a light kiss. She could almost feel the tension leave his body at the same time. “So we can focus on giving each other tonight. How does that sound?”

“It sounds like something we both need,” he said, picking her up and carrying her up the stairs to his room.

He wasn’t one for being romantic.

Actually he never showed many signs of it. He always was sweet and caring outside the bedroom, but when they weregetting naked, it was more rushed and electric. To the point and sometimes mind blowing.

This felt different to her and maybe it was what they both needed.

He set her on her feet and then lifted her T-shirt up and over her head and dropped it on the floor. She pulled his shirt off of him too and did the same with it.

Her hands went to his chest. So big and broad. She loved his size and how she felt so protected around him.

Could be that was a big burden he had to carry in life too. That many looked toward him for that.

“I love the sprinkling of hair you’ve got. Not so much that you need a shave or a comb, but enough in there to let me know you’re a man.”

“I didn’t know that a few hairs on my chest made me a man,” he said, laughing.

She moved her hand down between his legs. “No.” She cupped him. “This helps too. I love it.”

“More than you love me?” he asked.

“Sometimes,” she said, laughing. “Now is one of those times.”

“Then I don’t feel so bad saying I get a lot of enjoyment out of these.”

He took one finger and slid it under the strap of her bra and dragged it off her shoulder, then did the other side.
