“Then yes, I’ll keep it all. Whatever it all is.”
He sat up, checking in several bags around us.
“Ah ha!” he exclaimed, pulling out a box of condoms. “This was a specific request.”
Squeezing my eyes shut, I shook my head. “Seriously? You had your twenty-something female cousin buy that for us?”
“The other thing you need to promise is that you’ll relax a little. Spontaneous vacation with your sexy Latin lover, remember?” He kissed me quickly, waggling his eyebrows.
“I might need help with that.”
“Just as well…” Playful Antonio vanished, transforming into Hungry Antonio. He grabbed my waist, the two of us crashing into the hollow between all the bags, and he hauled my shorts and underwear off. “It’s my specialty.”
His mouth traveled back up my body, more breath and teeth than there’d been yesterday. Somehow my bra and his clothes were off by the time he reached my mouth. He drove a hand into my hair and leaned in to kiss me, his moans setting me on fire.
I pulled his hand from the side of my head, intertwining our fingers. Telling him the truth when I arrived had been the scariest thing I’d done my entire life. Where did it leave us? With him spending too much money on me, taking me to Capri instead going back to the lab, and with his return to Michigan delayed at least two weeks.
This wasn’t what I planned.
He lifted on an elbow to look at me. “You’re shaking.”
I squeezed his hand, trying to ground myself. Sex. I could do sex. Push the rest of it aside.
“Is this not what you want?”
“That’s not it.” It was everything I wanted, but that was the problem. What happened when we finished? Was that the end? “I’m terrified.”
His body grew a different type of rigid. “Of me?”
“Of…” Those big brown eyes. I could keep telling them the truth instead of running or hiding. “Us.”
“Us,” he whispered, leaning back in to run his teeth along my jaw. “This is something to celebrate, not fear.”
How long had it been since I’d done that?
“First…” His hand sank between my legs, and one finger dipped inside me. “I remember you liked this.”
“Yeah, I do.” My hips rolled against his grasp, the small inner muscles firing all together. I gasped as he added a second finger, working them in and out, exploring inside me. “But it’s not what I want.”
His lips brushed my ear as his thumb found my clit, the fingers continuing to move. “You want me inside of you? Filling you?”
I nodded furiously, clamping my eyes shut, breaths coming in rapid spurts. “I want to learn to celebrate.Withyou.”
He chuckled low in his throat and the fingers left me so he could pull a condom from the box. “Open your eyes, bella. Look at me.”
I did as he said, following his movements as he rolled the condom onto his cock. My body screamed for it.Just let there be more after that.
As he finished with the condom, my eyes latched onto a small scar I hadn’t noticed yesterday. On the inside of his hipbone, below where the waistband of his shorts had hung. Small and puckered. Round at one end, extending straight for an inch.Ignore it, Sam.But I reached for it. I should focus on what was going on. “What’s this?”

Antonio
Samanthapaused,blinkingatthe scar on my groin.
“Another part of me.” I wove my fingers with hers again and pushed her back against the bed. “But not the part I want to focus on at this moment.”
It was far more than a physical scar. An eternal reminder of the horrible mistakes I’d made in my life. Of my days with Uncle Giovanni and my cousin Cristian. But my goal was to win her over. Remind her I was worthy of her. And that story was not one to be told yet.
