She groaned, rubbing her foot up my calf. “Stop talking.”
“You know this is a poorly thought out plan?”
Her hips pushed against me, her breath coming in shorter bursts. “Yeah, I was coming to that conclusion. Maybe we should stop.”
“Perhaps.” I raked my teeth along her earlobe and she whimpered.
She was such a strong woman and when she made a noise like that, it ricocheted through my body. She wouldn’t allow anyone else to hear that sound from her. That was for me alone.
The world dropped away, and it was just the two of us. We kissed again, our mouths growing frantic. I bracketed her supporting leg with mine, and she rolled her hips, creating the friction for both of us. Her leg rubbing my calf rose to latch around my ass.
“You should have worn a dress.”
“We should stop.” She continued moving against me, the sensation decimating my common sense. Itwasa stupid idea, but felt so good. “You could get in trouble if someone catches us.”
“There you are!”
Both our heads snapped to the sound of the voice. Mario strode toward us, unconcerned with what he was interrupting.
“I was looking all over for you! I went to see Bianca, but she said you just left with some security consultant?”
We both scowled at him, and Samantha’s leg dropped.
He shook his head. “You should have found somewhere more private. Ask me next time. I know the best places for making out around here.”
I let go of Samantha’s hand and kissed her cheek, my erection flagging. “Grazie, bella.”
“Grazie yourself.” She inspected the back of her hand, which bore an imprint from the wall.
“Come, you two lovebirds, we need to speak with the Carabinieri about the missing fresco. Then I hear I’m giving a tour of the laboratory and the archaeology museum?”
As I began walking toward my trouble-making cousin, Samantha smacked my ass. I turned to narrow my eyes at her. “You just wait until we get home, Caine.”
She winked at me, unable to contain the smirk gracing her lovely face. “I think we should stay out all day and tour the city. Maybe come home so late we collapse in bed asleep. Mario, do you have a tour long enough for that?”
“To exhaust Antonio so much he couldn’t make love to you? I doubt that.”
Her jaw dropped, and it was my turn to wink at her.
She caught up with us and nudged his shoulder. “You’re supposed to help me harass him.”
We walked out of the small alley together, laughing despite my frustration. My fingers slipped into her palm, but she pulled her hand away. Back to the professional.
Mario looked from our hands to each of us in turn. “What are you two playing at?”
“I’m the security consultant.” She undid the bun which I’d ruined when I pressed her against the wall and deftly twisted it up. Her eyes slid closed as she worked.
“Scusi?” Mario watched her hands moving in her hair. He stared too intently, and his eyes followed her neck, falling below her collarbone. I shoved him but admired the way her back arched as she pulled at the glorious strands, confining them.
Mario shoved me back, pointing at my hair. I ran my fingers through it a few times to smooth out the mess Samantha had made.
“Long story.” She finished a fresh bun, not seeming to notice either of us ogling her. Her pace quickened to its normal stride. “Just go with it for now. It’s easier than explaining.”
Chapter 13
Antonio
TheParkwasjustas busy on Wednesday as it had been for our visit Sunday, but the further Samantha, Mario, and I strayed from the core and primary attractions, the fewer people we had to navigate.
