Her inner muscles clamped down hard while she held my fingers against her clit.

“It’s more than okay. It’s perfect.” My orgasm built tortuously slowly, the agony in my arm holding me back. The need to speed up was strong, but that would hurt more. I was not so foolish to risk things ending prematurely.

She stretched, pushing her shoulders against me, her hand trembling over mine. Tiny gasps of “yes” and “please” burst from her and I tucked my face against her neck.

Her climax broke with a whimper instead of a cry. A quiet noise to match our quiet pace. But it ripped the last shred of my control away and I followed her, tumbling over the edge with a groan muffled in her hair.

I held her against me for long minutes, our breaths slowing together, not wanting to separate from her. “I love you, Samantha.”

“Do you think he heard us?”

“That’s three orgasms so far tonight.” I chuckled. “It hardly matters now if he heard us.”

“It does.” She rubbed her foot down the length of my calf. “I don’t want the bedroom police to burst in and kick me out.”

“Nor do I.” My bicep shuddered as I attempted to move my hand.

She interlaced her fingers with mine and guided my hand to her stomach, where it was most comfortable. “Of course, that raises the question of how I’m going to sneak back to my room in the morning.”

“A good question. But one we should deal with—”

“Tomorrow.” She hooked the foot around my leg. “I know.”

“Now sleep, amore,” I yawned. “For tomorrow shall be a far better day.”

She yawned with me. “Do you think we’ll be able to see Elliot?”

“I’m not sure how many diversions I have in me.” I shrugged my right shoulder, the arm not as comfortable as I’d hoped.

Samantha squirmed out of my grasp and turned to look at me, her face pinched. “Lie on your back and I’ll prop some pillows under that arm.”

“Is this where you call me stubborn again?”

“I don’t have to.” She rolled off the bed and took two of the extra pillows, helping me find a bearable position before rejoining me under the covers. “I remember the last time I broke a bone and everyone tried telling me not to do things.”

“That must have pissed you off.”

She laughed, stifling it and turning to look at the door, waiting for a knock that didn’t come. “It did. And I may have done some of those things I was told not to, then paid for it in the long run.”

“So you’re saving me from myself?”

“It was my ankle and I had a five-day whitewater rafting trip scheduled down the Colorado River. Pushed myself too hard getting ready for it and ended up having to cancel after the first day.”

“That must have been fun.”

She snuggled in next to me and lay her head on my shoulder, running her fingers up and down the length of my nearly immobilized forearm. “It sucked.”

“Did it teach you a lesson?”

She was quiet a moment, continuing to stroke my arm. Her head grew heavy and she let out a long yawn. “What was the rest of the story about your uncle?”

“He claims he wants out of theshippingbusiness.”

She pushed up sharply to look at me. “Seriously?”

“This is what he says.”

“Do you believe him?”
