Hand in hand, we’ll face this world as one.

With her by my side, our journey’s just begun.

Okay, now he’d made it weird. So he reached for the ketchup, made a pocket in the fries, and poured it in.

It squirted out everywhere, across the table, splattering him.

And her.

“Oh!”

“Sorry!” He set down the container. “Aw?—”

She picked up the ketchup. Put it over her shoulder and aimed it at him.

And just like that, he got doused.

“What—hey!”

She started laughing.

Oh, wow, he didn’t stand a chance.

“Seriously?” He reached around her, wrestlingfor the ketchup, but she held it away, jamming her elbow into his ribs, trying to spray him again. He grabbed ahold of her wrist, shooting it away from him?—

“What are you two—wow. Just wow.”

He froze. Looked over. Huxley stepped back to dodge more ketchup.

She wasn’t laughing.

He let go of Boo. “Hey, Hux.”

She stared at both of them, and he couldn’t help the strangest feeling of being actually in trouble.

“Want a fry?”

“What I’d like is the truth.”

He froze.

Boo picked up a napkin and started to wipe ketchup from her shirt.

“You guys must think I’m stupid. That I wouldn’t do my due diligence and figure out that today’s victim was actually Boo’s cousin.”

“Not technically. He’smarriedto my cousin.”

Oh, Boo. Stop. Talking.

Huxley could take her apart with a look.

To his surprise, Boo stared back. “Listen. You wanted a real rescue. You got one.”

“He wasn’t in danger.”

“He absolutely was in danger. And if you missed it, the chopper could have gone down. You got great footage and even a signed waiver from Riley. So I’m not sure what the problem is here.”

“The problem is that we want real reactions, from real people, telling real stories?—”
