Page 88 of Kane

The Daddy was a firefighting bear stuffie.

The Little was a magical bunny with the power to paint pictures into real life.

Despite the fantastical premise, Cassie still felt it was a risk to bring a Daddy and Little based comic into the world. Based on her previous experience with Lyle, she knew that not everyone had a tolerant attitude toward things they didn’t immediately understand.

‘Don’t worry,’ Kane said, finding Cassie’s shoes and handing them to her. ‘Whatever happens, I’ll be there. So will your friends.’

Cassie nodded.

What Kane said made sense.

‘But, if you’re asking me honestly,’ Kane continued. ‘I think people are going to go wild for it. I really do. You’re an incredibly talented, creative individual. And soon, the whole world will know it.’

‘Thank you, Daddy,’ Cassie said. ‘That was all I needed to hear.’

‘Okay. Good. Shoes on, and let’s move,’ Kane said. ‘I’m proud of you. More than you can ever know. But we haven’t got any more time to dawdle. We need to get our asses in gear.’

Cassie felt like melting into Kane’s arms right there and then.

She knew that Kane meant every word.

And Cassie loved him all the more for it.

‘Woah! This is the best launch I’ve ever been to!’ Katie said, excitedly jumping in the huge ball pit. ‘Seriously, you’ve got a great Daddy!’

Cassie smiled a big, broad smile.

She wasn’t about to disagree with Katie.

Kane had truly exceeded all expectations. The fact that Kane knew the bar owner Kane, a fellow Daddy Dom, must have helped a lot.

Kane had agreed to make some modifications for the launch.

The huge ball pit.

A side-room that was effectively converted into one giant painting and messy playroom.

And a revamped selection of drinks and snacks that included just about every single super-colorful beverage and sweet snack that a Little could ever dream of.

It all helped contribute to what was an all-time amazing atmosphere.

‘Hey, Katie, look over there!’ Cassie said. ‘I think Sydney and Leon might be getting alongextremelywell.’

Both Cassie and Katie looked over and watched Sydney and Leon chatting away with each other. Both were smiling, laughing, seemingly having a great time.

Based on appearances, it seemed like there was some chemistry popping between them, that was for sure.

And both of them were very much single too.

There was potential there at the very least.

Sydney saw her Little friends staring and quickly broke off the conversation before charging over to the ball pit and diving in headfirst.

Classic Sydney!

Always looking to perform and make the craziest stunt possible.

‘Woah! Even for you that was a wild jump,’ Katie said, laughing as Sydney’s head popped up from beneath the brightly colored balls.
