Page 17 of A Fate of Wings
His wings whooshed over my head. He stared down at me, feral desire glittering in the ebony depths of his eyes. I swallowed against the sudden feeling I’d bitten off more than I could chew in my quest to find a mate. To be the one in control at all times would be impossible with a man like him.
He enveloped me in his enormous leathery wings and against his tall, muscular frame. I had to snap mine against my back, so the feathers didn’t catch in his talons.
“Caught you, little woman.”
“Now what?” I asked, softening into his hold for I’d wanted him to catch me, prove yet again that he wanted me without a doubt.
“Whatever you’d like.” He ran his nose along my neck.
A shiver ran down my spine as a moan built into my throat. His lips followed the path of his nose. The moan burst free. He soared higher into the clouds until a blanket of white surrounded us. It was him and me. The beast and the queen. But more. It was a man and woman and the most basic of all instincts to mate.
“Kiss me,” I demanded.
He took my mouth in a ravenous kiss. I stroked his searching tongue with mine. His was a tad rougher than I was used to. His tongue was longer too, like he could tickle my tonsils if he tried. He didn’t. He was content to let our tongues duel.
I grew lightheaded from his kiss. Or it might have been the high altitude because he kept taking us higher into the sky. His lips traveled across my cheek to the soft hollow of my neck.
“Why so high?” I asked.
He raised his head. “Because I want plenty of time to claim you on the way down.”
I sucked in a gasp.
“Don’t deny you want me. You want this.”
“I—” He cut off my words with his mouth again. This time his tongue dove deep inside my mouth claiming every inch as his with his demon tongue. I sank my fingers into the base of his skull, then let them wander up to his horns, caressing and stroking now I knew for certain the rumors about demon horns were true. He grew harder still between our bodies. I wanted him. I’d wanted nothing this much in my life.
His hands ripped my dress from my body.
The fabric floated away in the wind. He hooked a finger under my panties and tore them away too before running his finger over my slippery entrance. My hips bucked against him as though my body recognized it wanted him.
I shoved out of his arms with a sudden surge of panic that this beast would own me. Control me. Take my crown from me.
He let me fall. I gazed back at him in shock, forgetting about my wings and that I could fly if I wanted, but I wanted him to catch me again. To be the man who would save me. To scoop me up into his firm embrace. And more.
“Beast!”
He was there in an instant, diving toward me like a dark bullet, his wings folded back until his arms wrapped around me. Then his leathery wings snapped open, gliding us through the air with ease. He gathered me in his arms.
“Must you be the powerful queen all the time?” He flapped us back up to a higher altitude.
I sighed. The wind caught the sound and fluttered it away on the breeze. I let go of all my fears and worries for this moment here with him.
“I will take care of you, mate.” He ran his finger over my slick entrance and then dipped it inside.
“Please,” I begged.
“Thea.” He sighed my name like it was a curse and a pleasure at the same time.
His finger pumped inside me. My hips jerked back and forth, but it wasn’t enough. His finger wasn’t enough. I needed all of him.
“Claim me,” I said.
“So demanding, my little queen.” He withdrew his finger and ripped his pants from his body in the same way he ripped my dress.
The black fabric floated in the wind. For a brief second, I wondered if the two pieces would find each other, but then he lifted my legs to his hips and slid inside me. I threw my head back as a sound of pure pleasure burst from my mouth.
“There’s my little siren seeking to lure me to her at long last.”
