“You want to…what?”My best friend asks, her mouth agape. It’s not every day that Little Miss Suddenly Adventurous is rendered speechless, and the urge to laugh at her shocked expression is strong.

I don’t however, because I want her to know that I’m deadly serious about what I’ve just told her.

“You want to…sell your virginity?” She shakes her head as if her ears are deceiving her, but she’s heard right.

I do.

“Gracie,” I begin, but pause when she grimaces. “Candy.” It’s hard to remember that she now prefers the name she used to hate, but given what my dickhead brother and her shitty ex did to her, it’s no wonder she wanted a change.

I still just have the occasional slip of the tongue.

“Sorry, babe. And yes, I want to sell my virginity. Sort of.”

“Sort of? What the hell doessort ofmean?”

“Well, I was speaking to Wint?—”

“To my Wint?!” She screeches.

“Do we know any other Wints?” I tease, laughing. “And he explained the legal ramifications of advertising such a thing.”

“Holy shit.”

I carry on like she hasn’t spoken. Like I haven’t just blown her mind. “So, together we came up with a plan.”

“You have aplanto sell your virginity. Andmyboyfriend helped you come up with it?”

“Oneof your boyfriends helped, yes,” I quip, smiling and wiggling my brows at her.

I’m still in a state of shock that my best friend has not only found domesticated bliss living with five guys, but that she’s fully embraced a BDSM lifestyle, and in the space of less than a year, has gone from being fired, dumped, robbed and kidnapped to being the marketing manager for the whole ‘For Me’ brand.

It’s mind blowing, but I couldn’t be more proud of her.

“Have you lost your ever-loving mind? Why didn’t you tell me? I would have talked you out of it!”

And yet somehowI’vesurprisedherwith this revelation.

“Babe, chill,” I tell her firmly. “I didn’t tell you before now because Ididn’twant you to try and talk me out of it. I’ve thought this through and I’m ready. It’s time. Past time. I just want to get this over and done with so that I can start enjoying all that…life has to offer.”

“Is this because things didn’t work out between you and what’s his name?”

“God, no.”

“Then why? This is about the club, isn’t it?” She accuses, eyes narrowing. “This is a membership thing.”

I sigh. She’s not wrong…but she’s not entirely right either.

Yes, membership requirements for ‘For Me’ are exclusive and unique compared to other clubs. But this isn’t just about wanting in. It’s about me.

I don’t want to date.

I’m not looking for love.
