Wow. That’s one way of putting it.
She looked at the list and didn’t know where to begin.
“May I see?” He put his hand out. “I assure you there are things on that list that don’t interest either of us, but Patricia is always inclusive, so she probably covered all the bases.”
“Okay.” Brynne handed it to him and took the pen out.
He scanned the first page and popped a donut in his mouth. “Shall we go section by section?”
She stammered, “Fine.”
“I can see you are open to various types of bondage, nothing too extreme—no hoods and no suspension upside down. Got it.”
Brynne cleared her throat. “I don’t know how I feel about wearing any kind of gag.”
“In your interview, you said you had been in two D/s relationships. How can younot knowhow you feel about that?”
Oh shit.“I might have exaggerated a little. They were dominant, but neither were into restraints and stuff.”
Gage’s mouth pursed, and he tilted his head like the headmaster at school when he wasn’t buying the story. “Exaggerated? I knew you were overstating your experience to get the job.”
She looked at him sheepishly. “Um, maybe a little.”
“Perhaps that means one of yourmaybes should change to a yes. For me.”
Her stomach dropped. “Like what?”
“I’ll know when we get to it. Let’s continue.”
They went down the list and he explained the things she put question marks next to. Together, they crossed out a bunch of items that did not interest him and totally unnerved her. She agreed to try some othermaybes to see if she liked them.
When he got to the sexual activity list, things got interesting.
“I see you marked anal sex with ano / don’t know. Have you had a bad experience?”
“I haven’t tried it. And frankly, I can’t see you goinginthrough theoutdoor with that monster you call a penis.”
Gage choked on his coffee. He took a few minutes to stop coughing and collect himself, and even then, she saw he couldn’t contain his amusement. “There’s nothing to be afraid of, Brynne. I will ensure you are well prepared. That’s what we have toys and plugs for. You are open to those, aren’t you?”
“I guess so. But for now, that stays on themaybe-one-daylist.”
He nodded, but there was a twinkle in his eye, and she knew they would revisit that one. They got through the bottom half of the list without incident. She was relieved he didn’t question her rejection of tickling and electricity, but her pulse raced, knowing he now had the means to push her buttons.
A box was on her bed when she went to change. Inside were a pair of hot pink workout shorts and a white all-in-one bra tank top. Both pieces were too small, but she had little choice until she did some shopping. She checked herself in the mirror.Holy shit, this will be interesting.
Brynne put on some pink lip gloss and her trainers and headed upstairs. His workout room was bigger than her apartment. It wasn’t only the array of professional equipment that shocked her—it was the stunning views of the water. Lined up in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows were five kinds of professional-grade cardio machines. The back wall had weight machines, free weights, and a corner for boxing. She hated working out, except for boxing, but she was badly in need of some exercise. Her clothes were tight, and she had gained at least five pounds since arriving in Skye.
She stepped on the treadmill and studied the complex dashboard, looking for the ON button.
“Looking for this?” He snuck up on her again and she screeched and stomped her foot.
“You should wear a bell, so I know you’re coming.”
From the devilish way he smiled, she knew his deviousmind filed that away for future use. He flipped a small, concealed switch, and the screen lit up. After his quick tutorial, she started a walking program.
Brynne stepped on to the side rails and turned to him. “While I appreciate you providing me with an outfit to exercise in, you got my size wrong. It’s too small and I look ridiculous.”
He looked her up and down, his pupils widening. “I chose the outfit for my enjoyment. It’s perfect if you ask me.”
