“You’re awake. Good.” His familiar voice fills the room. Luca settles his eyes on my thighs and I watch him. He drags his eyes up my thighs before staring back at me.
Then, the door creaks open again.
Oh, shit.
I’m wondering who it might be. Luca never allows anyone else inside this room when he is here with me.
“Oh my God, Gianna.” Bianca exclaims as she walks into the room and stares at me.
I have no idea how I look now—except for the images I’ve conjured in my head—but I can tell she’s terrified by what I’ve become. What Luca has made me become.
“Wha... what have they done to you?” Her eyes are filled with worry and anger as she rushes towards me, and her face pales with concern.
I groan as she touches me gently. My body stings with pain from the fall and lack of movement.
“Luca. Luca! What the fuck are you doing?!” she exclaims, her voice rising in disbelief. “Have you gone insane?”
Her words are met with silence from Luca, who stands frozen; his gaze is just fixed on me with an unsettling intensity.
“How could you do this to her?”
Luca remains silent.
“Brother!” Bianca looks genuinely concerned, but I don’t let it move me. They are all the same. Fucking monsters.
“Let her out of here, Luca,” Bianca demands, her voice firm. “You can’t keep her like this. She needs help. Look at her.” She exchanges glances between Luca and me.
“She ismyprisoner, not yours. Lock the door on your way out.” He shoots me a blazing gaze and turns to leave.
“Luca, this is too much already. Let her fucking go.” Bianca turns back to look at me, her eyes fearful and filled with pity.
“No one...!” Luca’s voice raises in fury. It causes both of us to flinch. He pauses, staring at Bianca with clenched fists. “Not even you can decide what I do with her.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Bianca leaves my side and walks closer to Luca. They are only a few feet away from each other. “Who are you? My brother would never do this.”
She shakes her head. “You're holding Gianna against her will. This...” She gestures with her hand. “This whole revenge-fucked-up plan is turning you into a monster. I’m losing you, Luca.”
His gaze flicks to mine before he turns back to her, his expression unfazed. “I’m doing what needs to be done, Bianca. Stay away from this.”
“It’s been three fucking years, Luca.” She slams her feet to the ground in protest. Angry now. “I’m just as hurt as you are aboutlosing Father and Mother, but Gianna doesn’t have to suffer for their deaths.” She turns to me. “Look at what you’ve done to her.” She stares at me for a moment. Her lips curled downward as she shakes her head.
“I want the fucking truth,” Luca growls instead, his eyes flashing with anger. His face darkens, and his eyes narrow. “I’m doing this for us. For Father and Mother,” he hisses.
“No. You're doing this for yourself because you’re fucking screwed up.” Bianca’s voice is raised in anger as she points at her brother.
“I don’t know who you are anymore.”
Luca stares at both of us, his chest heaving. “There’s nothing going to stop me now, and I’m not nearly fucking done yet.” He storms out of the room without saying another word.
Bianca slaps her hand to her mouth, mumbling an apology to me.
I don’t want any fucking apology. All I want is to get the fuck out of here. I’m exhausted from being held captive here... I’m his prisoner.
I hold myself back from screaming at her. She isn’t saving me. She can’t. Before I can open my mouth to invest in her emotional bank, Bianca runs after Luca, yelling his name.
I’m hoping her conscience pricks her enough to the point of helping me—helping me escape.
God, I hope she does.
