“Let’s sit and have a little chat, shall we?” He replies. “We have a lot to discuss.”

I shake my head and pull out my knife.

“No talking. I don’t care. We came here to finish you off. Something you deserve,” I growl, stepping forward.

I don’t give a fuck that Ernest is here. That won’t stop me from killing this piece of shit and putting an end to Dynah’s misery once and for all. We can question Ernie later.

“Is that anyway to treat your Father?” He tsks his teeth. Leaning down, he whispers in Ernest’s ear. Ernest’s face pales and his eyes look ashamed as he turns around and heads back through the door.

“Wait!” Spencer yells, moving to follow him.

“Spencer. We will talk to him later, stay here. Please,” Dynah says, grabbing his arm and holding him in place. “I know you want to go after him, but he isn’t why we came. We will figure it out later. After we kill this piece of shit.”

He stops moving and looks down where she grabbed him.

“Fine, but let’s just get it over with. The sooner the better,” he replies, loud enough that we can all hear him.

Robert chuckles darkly, Dynah bites her lip in nervousness, and my hand tightens on my knife.

“Start explaining, ‘Father.’ We’re all waiting,” I say aloud.

“Where do you want me to start?” He laughs, turning around and walking to his podium.

I follow his steps, keeping my knife pointed at him, waiting for him to continue. Things weren’t supposed to be like this. We planned on finding him alone. Dynah was going to make the kill and then we were going to leave and everything would be done.

Now I don't think things can get any worse or twisted. None of this is what we planned. Screw letting Dynah killhim. I’m going to cut his guts out and hang him with them. I want to burn him alive from within the church, setting fire to everything he has ever touched with his grimy hands.

“Let’s start from the beginning shall we?” We all stand in silence, letting him tell his side of things with a sickening smile on his face. “When you were born, you were the brightest thing in my life. I never wanted to let you go, but your cunt of a mother decided it was best to leave me and hide. So, when you two left, I did everything in my power to track you down. It wasn’t until you were about five or six, that I finally found the dumb bitch. She was struggling to keep you alive and fed, so I put her out of her misery and took you as payment. You’re my Son. I was just trying to help.”

He walks away from the podium, shoves his hands in his pockets and walks down the steps to the pews. I follow him, not letting him blink without me seeing. I don’t trust this fuck at all. I want to get it over with already, but we clearly need him to keep going– keep explaining.

“By the time all that happened, I had already met Dynah’s mother. Now I had a sweet little girl. I adopted her and played nice with her Mother until the papers went through. But, then I brought you home. You and Dynah got too attached to each other too quickly. You would sneak into her room and sleep with her. You two would play games of hide and seek, hiding from one another, and it pissed me the fuck off. I couldn’t let my children be together. You’re step-siblings. I don’t care that you two were only little kids, it was going too far too quick. So, I made a phone call to Ernest and Jenelle and had them come take you away from my sweet little girl. I just couldn’t have you tainting something so pure.”

I growl at him, and finally cross the distanceto him, pressing my knife to his throat. He just smiles with sympathy in his eyes.

“You have two more minutes to talk before I kill you. Hurry up,” I tell him.

“You’re so feisty. I should have kept you instead of her,” he laughs quietly.

“One minute. No longer you son-of-a-bitch.”

“Okay, okay. I was keeping Dynah for myself for a long time, but once I finally realized that I could gain the finances from selling her body, I used that to my advantage. She turned a pretty penny until the day I decided she was done. I was going to make her the next sacrifice, but she escaped instead,” he seethes. His head turns to her and he grimaces. “Ungrateful girl. You were going to feed God so he could keep the rest of us pure. You were going to be the best sacrifice we've ever had. But you had to get up and run instead.”

Dynah pales, and turns away, staring out of the side windows. It’s dark, and she can’t see anything outside, but she doesn’t need to. I know she is lost within her own mind.

“Thirty seconds,” I say.

“That’s it, Son. I got a call from the police saying they found her, and I picked her up. I was going to kill her, but you got to her first. Honestly, I’m surprised you haven’t killed her yourself. I’ve kept an eye on you over the years, you seem very educated in slitting throats. Tell me– why didn’t you kill her, Elliot?”

“Because the only person here worthy of dying isyou.” I start to press the knife in further, cutting into the skin as he smiles widely, but Dynah interrupts me first, snatching the knife out of my hand and pushing me to the side.

“No, Elliot! Don’t kill him. You can’t,” she cries. Robert smiles as his step-daughter stops in front of him with the knife. “I’m so sorry, Daddy. I won’t let him kill you.”

“I wouldn’t have let him. It’s just me and you now, right? You’re all I’ve got. Do you understand now?” He asks her, reaching up and tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear.

“Yes, but your baby girl still wants to make her Daddy proud? Do you still want to fuck me? After all you just said?”

“Always,” he replies with a glint in his eyes.
