Chapter 5

Sullivan

Well, that was a fucking first. Never has a woman told me all she wanted was one night. Usually, I have to let them down gently the next morning. Her friend did seem to be in a hurry though. I wonder what the fuck happened with that.

Without bothering with a shirt, I grab my sweatpants and head out of my room to find Todd. I want to know why my morning fuck was ruined. He is sitting in the kitchen, scrolling on his phone and drinking a cup of coffee. I walk over to the coffee maker and pour myself a cup. I add a little bit of powdered creamer and walk over to the table. I sit down and ask, “How was your night?”

Todd answer, “Pretty good. Yours?”

“Fucking fantastic until her friend came banging on the door demanding they leave.”

Todd runs his hand through his clean-cut blonde hair and says, “Yeah, about that. Not sure if that is my fault or her fault.”

I ask, “What did you do, man?”

“Well, I thought I had sex with a single woman last night. Found out that wasn’t the case.”

I laugh, “Fuck, man. You always pick the quality ones.”

He glares at me, “You’re an ass. Believe it or not, I liked this one. Not to sound like a woman, but we had a real connection. Then the crazy came out.”

“Aren’t all women crazy?”

“Some are worse than others. However, I liked her.” he pauses and asks, “What’s the deal with Kandace’s friend?”

That catches me off guard for a minute. He named her Kandace instead of saying something else.

I smirk, “A lot of fun.”

“And?”

“Until this morning, then she was like, okay, thanks.”

He busts out a gut-filled laugh, “Are you kidding me?”

“Man, I wish. I was going to see if she wanted to meet up again, and she had none of that.”

He continues to laugh, “She pulled a you on you.”

I roll my eyes, shake my head and say, “Yeah. This is a first for me.”

Todd starts to laugh harder. “I know this is an odd event in history but still.”

I comment, “I’m still in shock over it.”

Todd chuckles, “Now, you know how all those poor souls feel after you did the same.”

Annoyed, I state, “You’re an asshole.”

“An asshole that is right.”

“Whatever,” I reply. However, he does have a point. I have done the whole up and leave too many times to count. It only sucks because I wanted to do it again with her. That’s not going to happen. I can’t have a pity party about it. Just another woman that I will move on from.

I get up from the table and comment, “Well, I have to do some work. You know I have to prepare for the upcoming season.”

Todd laughs, “I am not ready for all the whining.”

“Who is?”
