I grab my beers out of his hands and walk toward the end of the table away from him. I sit down and take a sip of my beer. Not sure where his demeanor changed. Then again, my ass didn’t realize he was probably fucking with me.

The night is coming to an end. Several beers in, I am feeling pretty.
Kandace comes near me and asks, “What do you want to do now? Mack is having people over for an after party. I’m drunk and cool with not going.”
Looking at her confused, I question, “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I just have had enough of him tonight.”
I laugh, “Too much baby girl, let's have some more Cognac, G.”
She grins, “Something like that.”
“Let’s call an Uber,” I say.
I pull out my phone and start to touch-in my passcode when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to see my buddy, Sully. Okay, this is weird, or maybe it isn’t.
He asks, “Are you ladies done for the night?”
I look at Kandace, and she looks back at me.
Kandace responds, smirking, “Depends on what you have going on.”
What the fuck? Did she just go from not wanting to hang out, to wanting to hang out? Does my friend have an interest in Sully? I can totally see why.
He continues, “Some of my friends and I are looking to score.”
What did he just say?
He laughs, “I’m kidding.”
I comment, “That was a bold thing to say.”
He shrugs, “It got your attention, didn’t it?”
Why is he so annoying now? He was sweet and considerate earlier. Now, it is douchebag mode. I don’t get men. One of the many reasons why I don’t want to deal with them unless it involves sex.
Kandace speaks, “We would be game to hang out. It just depends where.”
His attention goes to her and he says, “My place. It’s just for a few drinks and to continue to hang out.”
I interrupt, “You know how totally random this is? You just come up out of nowhere wanting to hang out. Why didn't you stick around and talk with us earlier?”
A cute grin appears on his face. He says, “It’s kind of hard to chat women like you up when you are surrounded by other men.”
Well shit, he has a point.
He continues, “I really didn’t want to intrude. Once I saw them leave, it was time.”
Kandace agrees, “That does make sense.”
He asks, “How about we get going?”
Kandace again, “Lead the way.”
He looks directly at me and says, “Do you need a ride?”
I answer, “How else are we going to get there?”
He laughs, “You’re funny. I like you. Follow me.”
Kandace grabs a hold of my arm and intertwines hers with mine. She squeezes and says, “Girl, this one's for you tonight.”
I roll my eyes at her. Maybe it is.
We follow Sully out to his car and pile in. He takes us to his home for an after party. An after party with complete strangers. This might be one of the dumbest things we have done in a while.
