“Arianna,” I said in friendly warning, drawing out her name.
“Ok. Ok. Becka told me about the fountain. So hot by the way.”
Oh, hell.Women. “Not all of it.” I ground out remembering the ending.
“I know. I’m sorry.”
“Ok. What am I missing?” Matteo jumped in.
Arianna looked to me with a silent request for permission.
“Ugg. I don’t care. Just not here.”
She snuggled harder into Matteo’s side. “I’ll tell you later. Ok? Husband.”
“Ok. Wife. Let’s get a drink.” They turned to the bar.
With nothing else to distract me I went in search of Becka. She had been gone for a while. I had no clue how long it normally takes a woman in the bathroom, but an uncomfortable feeling churned in my gut as I made my way across the room. Something cold brushed the back of my neck in warning.
Nico was making his move on a woman when he spied me from several feet away. He walked away from the conversation without a backwards glance. “What’s up, Luca?” He asked matching my stride.
“Just a bad feeling.” He didn’t reply but nodded and stayed at my side.
