Page 9 of Alien Warrior Seduced

“I’m sorry. God, I’m sorry. I don’t mean any harm.” I raised both hands, palms facing her, trying to look small and defenseless.

A mountain of a man stalked up behind her, a foot taller than she was and thick as a California redwood. I swallowed audibly, trying not to scream as he came to stand beside her, his own weapon in hand and ready to strike what would no doubt be a death blow.

“Dismor. Magl’on. Fall back. Can you not see the human is frightened out of her senses?” A rumble of a voice seemed to balloon into the room, growing louder and larger until it was the only thing I could focus on. I blinked, looking past the towering man and woman and finding a third figure. He was as tall as the first man, but more slender of build—for all that was worth, since he was huge, too. And I thought the billowing gold robe might be disguising rippling arm muscles.

The robe wasn’t tied, and it floated around his body, revealing an expanse of gorgeously dark skin. As he moved closer, light traced across his bare stomach. I’d been right. Muscles for days. I wondered how they’d feel against my fingertips. Because right now, on an alien planet held hostage, thinking about anything remotely sexy made absolute sense.

Absolutely no sense.

As if reading my thoughts, the woman holding the spear moved the pointed end a fraction, causing me to whimper and try to scoot away again.

“Dismor,” the third man warned, “Fall back.”

“She is an intruder, Your Highness. We must—”

“She is unarmed and obviously one of Magnum’s kidnapped Earth women. Put yourself in her place, Dismor. I imagine she’s somehow escaped whatever cage she’s been held in and ended up here. This is not an assassination attempt.”

“Your Highness, we must be careful and—”

“That is enough, Dismor.” The man’s tone hardened, a note of warning creeping into his words.

After a second’s more hesitation, the fierce female removed the spear from my side and moved several paces away.

“Thank you.” I let out a sigh of relief, voice shaking.

“I am sorry that I cannot provide you refuge.” He turned toward my recently retreated assailant. “Alert Commissioner Bloodworm that we’ve found a stray.”

Before the warrior woman could respond, I scrambled to my feet.

“A stray?” I bristled at the word and squared my shoulders as I prepared myself. “I am not a stray. I am a successful career woman who has consistently beaten my male counterparts. I’ve just bought a house. In New York! On my own. Do you know what kind of perseverance that takes? My credit is stellar. I’m on track for a promotion that will literally change my life. I’m a stray? God, I’m in the damn twilight zone!”

He watched me with a sort of amused, fascinated expression. I chanced a glance at the warrior woman—she almost looked impressed. Almost. The California Redwood man didn’t seem to have many thoughts going on in his giant head.

“Nonetheless, I’m afraid that I do not have a choice in the matter. I am here as a participant and have about as much power as you to change my circumstances.”

I blinked and cocked a thumb at the woman. “Didn’t she call you ‘your highness,’ though? You’re saying that you’re royalty and a prisoner too? Because,” I gazed pointedly around the stunning room with circular bed and surrounding fountains, “this looks a lot cozier than my current accommodations—which are downright medieval.”

“Our cages may be different, but I assure you we are currently both here under duress.”

“My cage is dozens of human women stuffed into a cell with no bathroom. So yes, I’d say our cages are very different.” A voice began jabbering in my mind. Convince him to help. You’re good at sales. Sell him on why you’re worth saving. “Look, Your Highness,” I resisted the urge to give a small bow, “I have a case of human medicines. I’m sure there are potential uses for alien anatomy. If you help me, maybe we can work something out.”

“We have no use for human medicine on my world,” He shrugged, glistening navy-blue hair shaking in a wave down his body with the slight movement, distracting me for a moment.

What would it feel like to run my hands through that mane?

I shook off the thought.

“How would you know? Have you tested everything we have to offer? How about Viagra? My company has formulated something that makes Viagra look like a placebo. A faster erection with staying power that can be taken multiple times in a short duration without any prolonged side effects. No rushing to the ER after a forty-eight-hour hard-on.” I winked. I could do this. I could win him over.

The giant warrior man grunted out a laugh. Apparently, erection talk was something his brain could process.

“Our men need… no help in that department.” The leader—king? Some kind of ruler, anyway— spoke slowly, eyes sparkling with amusement. He had beautiful eyes, bright crystals set into his dark face. I’d bet good money that he was just as gorgeous everywhere, and probably truly didn’t need a magic sex pill.

Without meaning to, my eyes darted down to his… nether regions. A sizeable length pressed against silky pants.

I quickly looked away, warmth flooding my cheeks. “Sure. Whatever you say, Your Highness.” I crossed my arms and tapped a foot impatiently. Look tough, Gwen. That’s all you can do at this point. Act like you know Kung-Fu and can fight two giant aliens who have spears and a ton of skill. “So are you going to call the authorities on me or what? Since there’s nothing you can do to help me.”

False bravado. It was like my superpower.

“I would help you if I could, Miss…” He tilted his head slightly, waiting for me to fill in the blanks.

“Gwen. Gwen Mitchell.”

“Well, Gwen Mitchell of Earth. I am Kaio Targen, Son of Ramzen, King of Shanda’Vas. It is a pleasure to meet you. Again, I am sorry that I cannot assist you.”

“Shall I alert the Commissioner now, Your Highness?”

“Yes, Dismor. Magl’on will stay and protect me from this terrifying human.”

Was it just my imagination or was Kaio Targen teasing me?
