“Absolutely.” I’m about to suggest she run to the store with Elizabeth, but again, I don’t want to go there. Not yet. “I’ll pick some up tomorrow.”
“Okay.”
We work in silence for a good thirty minutes. I help her organize the clothes the way she wants them in her closet. Since this room is the main bedroom, the walk-in closet is enormous. Big enough that Tina’s clothing gets its own section. When we’re done, we move out into the bedroom again. “You should probably get some sleep.”
“You too. You’ve got to work tomorrow.”
Instead of affirming her statement, I step up to her and wrap her up in my arms. “I love you more than anything else in this world, Ryann.”
“More than Calvin?” She giggles into my chest.
“I love you both. Not always at the same time.” I laugh. “You both have moments when I wonder where my babies went.”
“We’re growing up.”
“I know.” All too well. Pulling away, I head out of her room, repeating how much I love her. It’s true. I love my children more than life itself.
And I’d do anything for the ones I love.
