“It’s three blocks away. We’re walking.” To Jeriann I add, “There’s a sushi place on the way.”

“Perfect.”

* * *

“Spill.”Jeriann’s got a piece of sushi wrapped in rice poised and ready to pop into her mouth.

“Spill what?”

“I know something happened.” She puts the entire piece into her mouth and chews. Slowly.

“Nothing happened.”

With her mouth still full, I get a scowl. “Lies.” Only it sounds more like “Mice.” I knew what she meant.

Setting down my sushi, I lean in closer. “I’m going to be his dirty little secret until he thinks the kids are ready.” Wait. Did he say that? The last part?

You want to know something…? I don’t think he did say the last part. My shoulders slump, realizing the truth. I’m not his dirty little secret until the kids are ready. I’m just a dirty little secret.

Shit. I can’t think about that, I shove an entire piece of my sushi roll into my mouth to stop all the thoughts swirling in my head.

“You saw his donger?”

That was a bad idea because now I’m choking on that same piece of sushi. Gulping water, I’m finally able to swallow. “God.” I wipe my mouth. “Do not say stuff like that.”

“You have. You’ve seen his peen?”

What can you do when someone says that except laugh. And laugh. “No,” I say between chortles. “I haven’t seen his…” I lean in and whisper, “Peen.”

“Well, what have you seen?”

Not much. “We haven’t done ‘it,’” I say with air quotes. “We’ve kissed and stuff.”

“Stuff?”

“Yeah.” I’m about ready to stuff my mouth again when I think better of it. “Stuff.”

“He’s made you come, right?”

How does she do that? She knows. Stuffing my mouth, I nod.

“With his mouth?” She’s still talking in full voice. The two people at the table next to us has a look of pure disgust on their faces. I don’t blame them.

Still. I nod again. She won’t let up until I tell her everything. When our food is gone, I give her an edited version of the events of last night. It seems to appease her. For now.

“He wants to keep your sex life a secret?”

“There’s no sex.”

“That was sex, my friend. Trust me. A tongue is as good as a cock. Sometimes.”

Rubbing both hands over my face, I groan. “Why are we talking about this here?”

“Why not here?”

Time to change the subject on her. “How’s Cael?”

Jeriann shrugs. “He’s around.”
