We were almost pressed completely together, and I wondered if she looked down if she’d be able to see how much I wanted her. My growing desire, just from touching her. From thinking about going inside her apartment and slipping underneath the sheets with her.
“This,” I repeated, and I tried to ignore the thump-thump-thump of my heart. Wondered if she could feel it beating against her chest. “This… attraction. Sometimes I think it’s going to drown me, Noelle, the pull I feel to you. I know you know what I’m talking about. I know you feel it.”
“And what if I do?” Her voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper. “What if I do want that? All of it?”
“Then we should stop resisting it,” I said as I pulled her in closer to me, as every inch of me pressed up against every curve of her.
“Can we?”
“Noelle…” I sighed, and brushed my thumb against her cheek, smoothing her soft skin under my touch. She shuddered a little, and I knew she was as affected by me as I was by her.
“This thing between us,” She started, eyes locked onto mine, our lips only centimeters apart. “I… I don’t want to ignore it. Not anymore.” She blinked up at me, and her beautiful brown eyes were hypnotizing.
“So?” I asked. I wondered if I sounded as breathless as I felt, with her lips hovering right below mine.
“So kiss me again, Matthew,” she said, intertwining her fingers through the hair at the base of my skull. “And tell me how much you want me,” she pleaded. “Ask me to come inside.”
“I think about you all the damn time, baby,” I said, and then my lips were on hers, finally, finally.
And this kiss—this one was passionate, caring, both of us giving in to the lust in our blood when we looked at each other. But it was more than that, with Noelle, and maybe it always had been.
But I couldn’t think about that—about anything. Not with her lips on mine. Not as she had twisted her hands in my hair, pulling herself closer to me, pressing our bodies further together. My arms wrapped around her thighs, lifting her hips, hoisting her up onto my body—which pressed her right up against my erection. I groaned at the contact, hoping she couldn’t feel how hard I was through my jeans.
She let out a small noise of surprise before wrapping her legs around my waist, locking herself in place on my body as I kissed her again. As I let my tongue slip into her mouth and hers into mine.
I was well aware we were making out in front of the dorm she worked at, but I couldn’t find it in me to care, not when I was feeling so much. And I hated it because the sight of her building sobered me up. Made me think about where we were.
“I can’t come inside,” I whispered when we pulled away from each other. Noelle almost seemed transfixed as she ran her hands over my face, cupping my jaw as we continued to hold our gaze.
“I know,” she sighed, looking at the building. It was a line that we couldn’t cross. “But…”
“I want to make you so happy,” I said, a whispered promise on a sweet reverent breath. She pushed the hair off of my forehead and kissed my jaw. “Let me make you happy, Noelle,” I murmured, “please?”
She gave me a small smile, nodding. It was all I wanted, to make her happy.
“I should go,” I added, needing to pull away before I did something stupid. I cupped her face once more with my palm. “I’ll see you Monday.” I needed to go home and take care of my problem down there before I went mad, but I knew I couldn’t let my urges get the better of me.
I needed to go slow and take my time with her. I dropped a final kiss on her lips before I watched her walk away.
It was Monday—the beginning of the last week before Spring Break. And for some reason… I knew I needed to make the next week count. And maybe… Maybe she would want to spend her Spring Break with me. At my house.
Where she’d let me worship her all night long.

“So.” Bryan raised an eyebrow as I pushed around the eggs on my plate. I was currently trying to remember why I had agreed to go to breakfast with them in the first place. Seemed like a bad idea now, as I was about to get interrogated by them.
“So,” I said back, not feeling like playing this game. I directed a glower right at him. “Get on with it.”
“Just friends, huh?” He smirked. Elizabeth rolled her eyes as she leaned against her husband.
“We’re just—” I shrugged. “I don’t know what we are, you guys.” I groaned. “I just like being around her.”
“We could tell,” Elizabeth smiled. “She seemed nice. I’m glad you brought her.” I looked back down at my plate as I waited for the classic I told you so.
Because hadn’t they both said something in the bar not that long ago? And suddenly, I was grateful that it was just the three of us getting breakfast—Cole and Tanner had chosen to spend the day with their girlfriends. Bryan and Liz might have been relentless about me being happy and finding someone to settle down with, but I knew it was only because they wanted me to be as happy as they were. Cole and Tanner, on the other hand? They just loved to tease me. Never mind that I was older than them, they always loved finding ways to get under my skin.
“I think she’s good for you,” Liz said, pulling me from my thoughts as she sipped her decaffeinated tea. “You smile more around her.”
