“No, he isn’t.He’s already left,” Breckin said.
CC felt her heart constrict in pain.“What?”
“Griff said something about the hospital calling him and wanting him to start sooner than expected.He’s already at his mom’s house.He left this morning.”
“Oh,” CC said softly.
“Don’t get that look on your face,” Breckin said, wagging her finger at CC.
“What look on my face?”
“The hurt look because he really did leave.It doesn’t matter if he left this morning or a week from now like you thought he was going to.You can’t have it both ways, Cees.I love you, but you can either suck it up and talk to him or don’t and be miserable.Your choice.”
“I wish it were that easy,” CC said sadly.
