“Germ-infested?”

“You work with sick peopleall day.No telling what infections and diseases you have all over them.”

“You do realize I wear gloves and use alcohol disinfectant all the time, right?”

Megan waved her hand at him.“Some germs build up an immunity to that stuff.”

Brant chuckled.“Oh, really? That’s for letting me know that, Marie Curie.I’ll be on the lookout for the Superman disease that can resist everything but Kryptonite.”

Megan ignored his barb.“Second, everyone knows Kelda takes pictures of every hot man’s ass in town to post on all her pages. It’s on her bucket list as one of the things she wants to do before she dies.”

“You think I’m hot, Pigtails?”Brant asked with a smile. The first time he had gone into Griff’s, Megan had her hair in pigtails. She hadn’t looked much older than fifteen. He had given her a hard time ever since. She was like his kid sister.

Megan wrinkled her nose.“Ew.No.You’re like my brother. But I’ve heard other women talk.”

“Gee, thanks.”

“No problem.Anyway, she doesn’t just want all the hot men in town’s asses.”

Griff groaned.“I’m almost afraid to ask who else she’s trying to get.”

Megan began ticking off names on her fingers.“The Rock, Zac Efron, Chris Pine, the dude fromFifty Shades of Gray,Prince Harry, and Sam Elliott. And, oddly enough, the old, grumpy, English judge fromDancing with the Stars.”

“Are youserious?”Griff said.“How do youknowthis?”

“Easy.I was serving her table on dollar draft night last week when she and Madge came in and ate together.”

Brant raised his eyebrows.“Kelda andMadge?I thought they hated each other.”

“Most nights they do.But on dollar draft night, they come here and hide in the dark corner booth and discuss all the sexy stars they’d like to have as notches in their belts before they kick the bucket.”

“So they don’t just wantpictures?”Brant asked.

Megan shook her head.“Nope.Madge described it as….I think she said mind-blowing rolls in the sack. But don’t quote me on that.”

“How did I not know this?”Griff grumbled.“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because the tip they give me is double the amount of their ticket. They said it was for my silence and acted all mob so I didn’t have the heart to rat them out. What’s the worst they could do?”

“Well, since my meemaw told me she’d been saving for a plane ticket to Los Angeles to go on a celebrity tour before she dies, I’m thinking she could do alotof harm.I donotwant to bail my ninety-one-year-old meemaw out of jail in California for stalking and groping a famous man’s ass!”

Megan and Brant both started laughing.“It’s not funny!”Griff moaned.“Why is this funny to you?Sometimes I can’t sleep worrying about what she’s going to get into next.”

Brant ate the last fry in his basket and clapped his friend on the back.“It’s funny to me because she’s not my meemaw.I don’t have to put up with her shenanigans on a daily basis.Just when she bothers me at the clinic or takes a picture of my ass.”

“You mean you don’t have a crazy meemaw?”

Brant shook his head.“Nope.I just have a no nonsense momma.”

“You’re lucky, Brant Billings. My meemaw’s the reason I shave my head.Too many gray hairs at an early age.”

Brant threw some money on the bar before taking the last drink of his beer.“It was always just me and my momma,” he said.“Maybe I would’ve enjoyed a crazy meemaw every now and then.”

Megan and Griff both stared at him with questions in their eyes.It was the most he had ever revealed about his past to anyone other than Colleen.Surprisingly, it didn’t scare the hell out of him like it used to.Brant finally grinned.“Who am I kidding?I don’t envy you one bit.You probably get stress diarrhea, too.”

Griff shook his head.“You don’t even know the half of it, man.”

“Gotta go, guys.Megan, as usual, you outdid yourself on the food.Griff, catch you later.”

“You need to come over to Wyatt’s again and watch some more of the playoffs with us,” Griff called.“I bet Golden State is going to win it all again this year.”

Brant waved over his shoulder.“Maybe,” he called. He highly doubted he would catch any of those games, though. Not that he didn’t enjoy Griff’s and Wyatt’s company. He did. He’d just much rather spend his time with a certain redhead who smelled like raspberries and vanilla and had his world atilt.
