Page 89 of Unlikely to Stay
Brant placed a kiss on her lips and she sighed in sleepy contentment. Not waiting for permission, Brant ran his fingers through her hair and deepened the kiss, his tongue exploring her mouth. He didn’t think he’d ever get tired of tasting her.
Her sigh turned into a breathy moan.Brant tightened his grip on her hair, gently pulling so he could have full access to her neck. She whispered his name as he blazed a trail of kisses down her skin. Her skin was on fire.He was on fire.He breathed in her smell of raspberries and vanilla and was so far gone he could hardly think straight. With an urgent need that he didn’t know he possessed, Brant pushed her gently on the bed and looked down at her.Her eyes were wide, her lips swollen with his kisses. It was safe to say she was now wide awake.
“I didn’t walk you upstairs with the intent of this happening,” he said.“I just didn’t want to have to set a broken bone on top of having to stitch you up.But, if I remember correctly, youwere the one who invited me into your room.”
She grinned.“Maybe I wasn’t as sleepy as you thought I was.”
That was all the invitation he needed.Pushing her down on the bed, he wedged his way between her knees and propped himself up on one arm, the other hand running up her inner thigh. Her breath hitched.“You like that, Freckles?”
She took her bottom lip between her teeth and nodded. His hand slid higher, running around the elastic of her panties. This time, she moaned.“I can’t believe you’re letting me touch you, Freckles. For so long, I thought you hated me.I think by the way you’re moaning it’s safe to say you don’t hate me anymore.”
Thanking the fashion gods she wore an off-the-shoulder dress, he took the right strap of fabric and dropped it down.He smiled as a white, lacy strapless bra came into view.“Wow,” was all he could say.
CC raised her back off the bed, reached behind her to unhook her bra, and dropped it to the floor.“You’re right, Snaps.I don’t hate you anymore.”
Brant smiled before leaning down and taking one of her perfect breasts in his mouth. He ran his tongue over her nipple, feeling it pebble at his touch. Her back arched off the bed, her hands fisted her comforter.“Holy hell,” she breathed.
Brant scooted her further up the bed and opened her legs so he could get on his knees between them.Sitting up so he could see the look on her face, he stared for a minute in amazement. Her hair fanned out across her pillow. Her lips swollen. Her chest heaving, those beautiful breasts the perfect size.
“You are so beautiful, Freckles,” he said.“So, so beautiful.”
Brant ran his hand down her side and hooked his finger in her panties.Pulling them down her legs, he took a deep breath when he realized they matched her bra.“I want to taste you, Freckles. Can I?”
Biting her lip again, she nodded.
Brant kissed her stomach, her calves, the curves of her hipbones. He ran his hand up the inside of her right thigh, his lips following close behind. When he ran his tongue up her center, she moaned his name. She tasted so sweet. It was beyond his wildest dreams.“You are the sweetest thing I’ve ever tasted, Freckles,” he said.“So damn sweet.”
Brant gently pulled her dress over her head and dropped it to the floor. Her sapphire eyes locked with his and his heart started beating frantically in his chest. In that moment, Brant realized something very important. He would never meet another woman like Colleen Chandler. She was it.
Taking his pants and shirt off, he dropped them to the floor before taking his time kissing his way up her beautiful body.Worshiping her with his mouth.Breathing softly on her skin.He paused when they were face-to-face.
“You make me feel things…things I’ve never felt before, Freckles. You make me want to stay.I’ve never wanted to stay anywhere.”At his words, he thrust himself inside her, in awe of how perfectly they fit together.
She whispered his name before breathing, “I think I might want you to stay, too.”
“So you met his mom?”Breckin took a big bite of her part of the trio’s Wednesday ice cream sundae at Sadie’s café.
Some traditions never died and CC was so glad this one had stuck. When the stress of adulthood got to be too much, she always had Wednesday sundaes to look forward to.
“I did,” CC said, following her friend’s lead and taking a big bite of her part of the sundae, the chocolate ice cream with marshmallow fluff.Elementary?Maybe.Delicious?Absolutely.
“Aren’t you going to tell us what happened? And why haven’t you told us already?”
“Is nothing sacred to you two?I’m sure there are secrets you only share with Griff and Wyatt! Why do I have to tell youeverything?”
“When our relationships were new we didn’t keepanythingfrom you,” Breckin said, taking another huge bite of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge.“We told you everything.”
CC shot her friend’s pointed looks.
“What?”Annie said innocently.“It’s the truth. And we tell you the majority of the stuffnow. We just leave out all the sex stuff.”
CC covered her ears.“I don’twantto hear about the sex stuff.I know your two men too well!If you told me all about your sexcapades, I’d never be able to face them again. You can keep that behind your bedroom doors, thank you very much.”
Annie grinned.“Your loss.”
CC shook her head.“Frankly, I don’t think I’m really losing.”Especially since she only got two hours of sleep the night before. She and Brant had been too busy to sleep. She had probably burned two thousand calories with whattheyhad been doing.
Breckin sighed sadly as she looked at the empty place where her part of the sundae used to be.
