“I love being bare for you, but I wish there were a way to have you do something similar,” I told him.

He laughed. “Babe, I walk around half-hard for you most of the time. No one knows you’re not wearing anything under your clothes while I have to hide my goddamn erections throughout the day.”

I pursed my lips as I tried not to laugh at him. “Still not quite the same, but I’ll take it.” I pulled his head down and kissed him.

Just as his tongue swept into my mouth and I was ready to throw a leg over his hip and unbutton his jeans, I heard voices and remembered my door was still ajar.

I stepped back and cleared my throat as I straightened my clothes. “I suppose I should try harder not to get fired so soon after getting a promotion.”

Dominick looked at his watch. “I need to get going anyway.”

“Me too. I have Women in Law today.”

“That’s right. I hope it goes well.” He started patting down his pants and frowned.

“What’s wrong?”

“I can’t find my phone. Can you call me?”

“Sure.” I found my cell on my desk, pulled up his number, and hit Send.

His pack started vibrating.

I shook my head with a smile and unzipped the front, so I could pull his phone out. When I saw the screen, I clicked my tongue in disappointment.

“Dominick, you have me in your phone asV Appointment?”

He shrugged. “Yeah. And I put me in yours as the opposite.”

“But I’m your girlfriend now.”

“What do you call me then?” he asked, lifting my hand so he could see my screen. He clicked on Recent Calls and wrinkled his nose. “Dominick Reyes?”

“It’s your name, obviously,” I said.

“But no fun.” He took his cell, typed a few things, and turned it around to face me.

“Baby,” I read out loud.

If I saw anyone else call someone that in their phone, I would roll my eyes, but seeing Dominick call me that made me mushy inside. I was a hypocrite.

“Better?” he asked.

I nodded. “Better.”

“Gotta go. Love you.” He dropped a peck on my lips.

“I love you too,” I said and waved good-bye as he left.

I couldn’t stop grinning, and I cleaned up my desk and got my things together for the Women in Law session I had to leave for soon.

There was a knock at my door, and I turned to see Rayne and Delaney standing there.

“Oh my God, I didn’t know you two were going to come up to my office,” I said.

“You told us about the promotion. We thought we’d come see the new office in person,” Rayne said as I came over and gave her a hug.

“How was your trip with the boyfriend?” I asked. I hadn’t seen her before she left town.
