“Please no, I’m begging you. Don’t do this. Sam will be back soon, just you see.”

He grunts as he presses harder into me as he struggles to free his dick. His breathing is fast and excited and I see a flush breaking out across his face. He is sweating, and it fills me with disgust. He growls, “Stupid fucking whore. You reject people like me until we have power and money. Then you can’t wait to ride our dicks because of what it gives you. I should slap your face and hear you beg me for mercy. What do you say, honey, do you like it rough?”

I start to shake and cry fearfully. “Let me go, I’m begging you. Don’t do this, why would you?”

He laughs. “Because I can and there’s nothing you can do about it. I have the power now, not you. Looking at me with your big baby eyes and looking so perfect. Well, who has the power now?”

I start to sob as his dick finds its way inside my panties. Just when I think I can’t take it anymore, the door crashes open and Sam rushes in. He pulls Grady off me and slams him against the wall of the box.

I gulp for air and hear him growl,

“You fucking bastard. Let’s see how you like it.”

He pulls back his fist but before he can smash it through Grady’s face, I jump up and pull on his arm.

“Don’t, Sam. He’ll sue you for assault. Please, can we just leave?”

I start to cry and Sam turns and looks at me with the anger flashing in his eyes. I rush to the door as Grady laughs. “That’s it, run away, littlegirl. Nothing happened here except you trying to blackmail me when I turned you down. Mr. Carrington, you should keep better company in the future. This town talks, and if word got out about your new companion, you wouldn’t find many open doors to you.”

Sam turns and looks at him with an ice-filled stare. “We both know what really happened here, Senator. You won’t get away with it.”

I beg him. “Please, Sam. I want to go. Leave it.”

Grady laughs as Sam backs away. “Listen to your girlfriend, Sam. She knows how these things work. Now run along because I have plans.”

I pull Sam away before he can do what he is obviously itching to. Grady’s sinister laugh follows us as we slam the door.

Sam pulls me to him and whispers, “You ok,darlin’?”

I nod and fight the tears threatening to spill. “It’s fine. Let’s just go.”

As we leave thetheater, I think about the man we left behind. I can’t wait to see him get what he deserves.

Chapter 12

Katherine

The ride home is in direct contrast to the one there. I sit snuggled up next to Sam with his arm around me, just grateful to be in his arms. I laugh softly. “Well, I’ve always hated opera, and that was certainly no exception.”

Sam laughs. “I see what you mean. Overrated, in my opinion.”

He turns to me and we grin at each other. He high fives me and we say in unison. “Job done.”

I nestle into his side with contentment.

“Thank God that’s over. Maybe we can have a few days rest before the next one.”

He nods. “I think that can be arranged.”

He falls silent and then after a while says softly. “I think I’m due a vacation from the office. Our next target is the easiest one yet. How about we tick that one off and then get away for a couple of days? I have a house in the Florida Keys that I rarely visit. We could fly down there for a few days and try to sort our heads out for the most challenging ones yet.”

He doesn’t know it, but his words fill me with a happiness I’ve never experienced before. I nod enthusiastically. “Are you sure you want to? I mean, surely you must be fed up with the sight of me by now. I would have thought a workaholic like you would only be too happy to leave me alone for a few days and get back to what he does best.”

Sam grins. “Actually, Katherine, for the first time I’m really looking forward to spending a few days with a woman and I am more than happy it’s you. I just hope you want the same.”

Smiling, I turn to face him and almost gasp out loud as I see the desire in his eyes. Those blue eyes are penetrating mine as if he’s reading my very soul.

I say softly. “Then let’s get phase three over with and get packing.”
